Big East Coaching Changes?

The Big East had a down year to say due to the tournament, but overall year in and year out its still the top league. And in this league its hard top move from that lower tier to the upper tier. But at least one school who is a sleeping giant is trying to do that. Saint Johns is serious about hiring a new coach Billy Donovan has turned down the Red Storm and now they are going after Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt. This is an interesting move because both of these coaches have good jobs and have been very successful at their jobs, and its unlike the norm for a team like Saint Johns to get serious about getting a new coach. I'm glad to see they are going big. Between WVU Pitt Nova and UConn they are the top 4 players in the NYC region. But if Saint Johns gets Hewitt, he already gets good recruits from the south think about if he can mix a team from southern players and NYC kids. He can rule NYC. St. Johns would be relevant again and He would have a great homecourt advantage at the Garden. That'd be an instant contender in the Big East top 5.
Seton Hall firing Gonzalez is a little premature. He just received a bunch of transfers that started playing this year and looks to have a solid team with Pope and Hazell returning. But now they may lose some of those guys. Mike Rice is a good coach at RMU and has put together a very impressive recored in 3 years in Moon. I think hes a good fit, but won't have the same impact as a Hewitt in St Johns hire would.
