Trade Big Ben?

Crashed on a motorcycle not wearing a helmet and caused a distraction. Strike 1
Whether it happened or not, theres the Lake Tahoe incident. Strike 2
and Finally, everything I've read seems as though Ben is guilty, and even if he's not He was still giving a 20 year old alcohol. Strike 3.

If the Steelers live up to their morals its a no brainer that you get rid of this clown. I've never ever heard one good thing about Ben's character or personality. Sure he's got 2 Super Bowls. But the Steelers, are welll the Steelers. The Rooney's are going to have a lot of issues if they keep this guy.

I think the trade is going to happen. Last week they said the Roethlisberger issue was going to be left alone by Goodell because it is a big week for the NFL. Today they are reporting the suspension is going to come out today or tomorrow. Conveniently right before the Draft. Sounds about right to me.

Honestly, after the Holmes trade, anything is possible. I don't know whether they will or will not trade him. It's up in the air. I think it will definitely hurt the Steelers at the QB spot, but it almost seems this isn't the end of Big Bens disastrous run with trouble. We'll see what happens.

The Steelers pay this guy too much money for him to just do whatever he wants.

Holmes gets traded for smoking pot, Ben has now allegedly raped two women. Seems as though Santonio got the raw end of the deal.

You think it was just smoking pot? How about the multiple arrests he's had since he entered the league? He was arrested after he was drafted for a domestic dispute; before he even showed up for the first time to the Steelers facility.

The dope was just the latest in a string of incidents with Holmes. Unlike Roethlisberger(who hasn't been charged with a single thing, keep in mind), Holmes has been caught driving high with weed in his car in Pittsburgh and has acted like Larry Johnson when it comes to treating women.

Since when is crashing your bike and "causing a distraction" a team problem? What harm did he bring to the NFL or the Steelers in doing that? Like it or not, he's not been charged as a criminal in either of the other 2 allegations. If you have incriminating evidence you better drive down to GA or NV and present it, since you seem so set that he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Because the professionals in that state sure haven't found that. And I'm sure they've done more 'investigating' than what you have by reading what has surfaced on the internet.

How wasn't him crashing on a motorcycle a distraction? Riding a motorcycle is in clauses of contracts of a lot of athletes. Cowher didn't want him too. He gets paid too much to be speeding on a bike, its a risky activity. Ask Jay WIlliams of ESPN. He missed time. Again if I am the owner or coach of a professional team I wouldn't one of my prize investments riding a motorcycle with no helmet, speeding. Hey maybe we disagree on that one?

I mean sure Holmes wasn't the best character guy coming in.And he has had other troubles since being a Steeler The pot was obviously the last straw. I mean he is being suspended 4 games for substance abuse policy. That was the nail in his Steelers tenure.

Ben's a jerk. Get rid of him

It is a clause in pro athletes contracts. It obviously was NOT in Roethlisberger's.

So it's gone from "Ben's a criminal, get rid of him" to "Ben's a jerk, get rid of him"? This could be his last straw, and I really hope he turns it around. He's 28 and is by no means done growing as a person (hopefully). This is his last chance in Pittsburgh.

WPInheAdL,

I have no words to describe how sad your life must be to post your "list" in a thread which deals with the Steelers.

I'm torn on this one. I don't know that he is guilty. I think there is def. something that happened though that most certainly shouldn't have. I do believe that Ben is pretty much a dumb **** and a d--k though. I'm a huge Steeler fan and you can't replace him. You will def. go backwards if he leaves for a number of years. As a fan I hate to see that. But...I still wouldn't be that upset if he got shipped out.

If I was the GM I would have tried to make the move about a month ago. if rumors I heard were true?!?!

I would have gotten Mcnabb from Philly, their asking price wasn't that high IMO. I mean surely they would have been more willing to deal with the Steelers then Skins. I had heard a rumor that Seattle was willing to give 2 firsts and a 2nd rounder this year for Ben. If that is true I would have made the move and tried to get Mcnabb. He gives you 3 or 4 years of good QB service.
