I am aware of a Christmas tournament that is short a Boys AA or AAA team. If anyone knows of a team looking for 2 games please post school on here so they can be contacted.

It'd be a shame if FH isn't in a few tournaments this year, with Marquis highlight player Luke Gallaher. I don't know what the schedule is: Don & Lance haven't consulted with me lately.

Gallaher should post impressive numbers against such stellar competition.

Are you kidding me? Guess coaches gotta get those W's.

You go where you're invited. By your post, one would think that these 2 tournaments are walkovers. Who knows what will happen. On the other hand, maybe some of the "bigger, tougher" tournaments didn't want to match up against 'lil Lukie, so they didn't ask.

That's funny...Competition is relative, Manfred...A few weeks ago, we were short a non-section game. We filled the opening, but otherwise would've been more than happy to invite your team to our place, beat up on little "Lukie" and hand the Rangers a 30 point blasting.

No Manfred, if you care about getting your kids good competiion and developing their potential you SEEK the best competition and it sure as heck isn't in Somerset and Bedford counties. The Gallaher kid is supposed to be a D2 talent and part of a real good squad this year. Why waste games with this kind of team against Podunk and Grousefoot? You are hurting the kids when you do so. But guess it keeps good relations with other schools and the newspaper. Playing in a real tournament would be "showing up" the other schools cause no one should try to be any better than the other. Makes the "others" look bad when a "local" team goes away for competition. Anyway, we have real good competitive hoops around here, right???

Sad how this mentality has become the standard in the local coaching ranks. Not "sad"... more like "pitiful".

I thought the post was about a Christmas tourney in need of teams. But I digress, the brain trust is in action.
