Have to concede a little to Titan.

As much as it pains me to do this... Penn State fans are idiots.

In addition to the laughable optimism following that "butt" ramming Saturday night (there was actually praise for the o-line, the first play I saw was a LB blitz and the LB knocked our LG completely on his ****) I've been engaged in a Pier 6 Brawl in the Lion's Den today over reports, from the horse's mouth, that the staff has backed off of 4-star RB Allan Wasonga as soon as he wanted to commit. Why, you ask? Because they are enamored with Tre Mason, who also has a lot of upside just like Wasonga does.

Only one problem, folks.

Mason is very impressionable and has fallen in love with every coach who calls his house. He wants early playing time. He is not going to get that promise from Joe or Mike Sherman. You can bash Joe for quite a lot, but he doesnot lie to kids about early playing time. But Ole Miss will, and basically has. There is no chance in hell that Penn State lands this kid, when he is so easy to persuade and wants immediate playing time. Ole Miss will throw the kitchen sink at this kid and get him. PSU will not engage in that kind of recruiting. His 3 schools are PSU, Ole Miss, and A&M.

They are putting all their eggs in the Mason basket and wont return Wasonga's calls. Here's the bad part. Rumors flying around the Den that Wasonga is a "character issue" and was suspended his first 2 games this season. Then his grades were called into question. Well, guess what. Allan Wasonga's situation was injury related. So once again, the posters in the Den who claim all this inside info are out of their dang minds and are making excuses for the incredibly idiotic recruiting effort the staff has been displaying. It took a moderator from the site to clear up the issue this time.

That poor kid was given a written offer, wanted to commit, and the staff is now backing away because they want Mason. I cannot tell you how many times this same exact scenario has bitten Penn State in the ****. And why in the Sam Hell is this kid's primary contact a "gosh darn" graduate assistant? Its not like we are running out of scholarships. No one wants them.

There is a Chinese fire drill going in the Lasch this season in terms of recruiting, and it is way worse than any of the apologists want to believe. First it was "Its only March", then it was "Its only June", "Its only July", "Its only August", "Its only September". Pretty soon it will be February. There are schools with 4 commits for 2012 already.

Those posters who posted that crap about Wasonga's character or grades should be ashamed of themselves. And when you call them out, all you do is get gangbanged over there. This is why PSU fans have such a poor standing w/ fans of other schools.

I feel bad for the BWI writers who have to deal with this on a daily basis.

Totally pathetic and reprehensible, in my opinion.

You guys think me and frosty and Ham and kirk are bad? We'd be considered heretics over there.

Nearly swallowed my chew when I read read the topic.haha but yeah Penn state is so far behind on recruiting and it starts with the top Kids aren't going to commit to a team that doesn't have a solid standing at the top. Do what most teams do and hire a coach in waiting or get Joe out of there this winter. These guys on bwi can't think everything is gonna be alright. Take a 4 star running back when you can get him. AW is gonna be a good player

Wasonga's film is incredible. There's no excuse for this stuff. Mason is very up front w/ wanting early playing time, and Wasonga is fine with the depth at Penn State. It's not like they are worlds apart, talent wise. I'd say they have equal upside.
