AJ Schopp is making the most of his time while red-shirting. here's a story off the Edinboro website, in the 3rd place match at the UB open he majored teamate Mitchell Port 11-3....

Anyway Schopp was named EWL wrestler of the week last week for his efforts and former Lewistown product Matt Bonson was named EWL wrestler of the week this week.
Is it just me or should he be at 133 for the Nits instead of Pearsall?

He is way too good to be at a state school like the big ED! Where is the love for the kid? He should be at a big time wrestling school!

As far as Schopp and PSU, I think that only referencing Pearsall underscores that highly regarded Sam Sherlock was expected to fill that spot, but he blew out his knee last year. Did Sherlock & Schopp ever wrestle?
There are rumors that a 2010 NCAA runnerup might be transferring/wrestling for PSU @ 133 in the spring anyway.
Luke Frey is apparently walking on @ PSU next year, fwiw.

UPJ's first home match is Friday nt. vs Ohio Val. or something. Fogle is starting @ 125. Can he follow in Valko's footsteps?

Although College football gets 85 rides, wrestling only gets 8 (so I hear) and there are 10 starting spots, doesn't seem right, oughtta at least have a few more than starting spots --15 at least.
BTW- I hope Frey does make it over there, kid is a class act, I'd love to see him in Blue and White.

We'll find out sunday at the PSU open, at 133 there will be Sherlock and Pearsall from PSU, Schopp and Port from Edinboro, and Rappo from North Carolina. Should be a great tourney.

Frey is committed to PSU. Rumors are that he is walking on. Frey's 2004 website tells the story:
