Its no secret that privilaged and entitled Jay Paterno, who has never earned or fought for anything in his life, wants to go into politics as a democrat very soon. You take a look at this guy. Here's an ego maniac who has business even being on a college staff, let alone calling passing plays. Look, for as much as I absolutely despise McGloin's nonsensical arrogant attitude, which has no basis in reality whatsoever, you simply cannot overlook the fact that there is a lineage of QBs from Penn State who have all made the exact same mistakes on gameday. Morelli, Clark, and McGloin were all chastized for locking onto their primary receiver and for not fully understanding how to read defenses. How can you overlook this? How can you honestly place blame on the actual QBs on not fully on the QB coach, if there is a lineage of players making the same mistakes?

In my honest opinion, you take a look at what Jay Paterno has done. He has driven off Devlin, Bolden, completely mishandled Morelli, and almost lost Newsome. All those kids were 4 or 5 star recruits. Paul Jones' status for 2011 has been unnerving all season, with talk of him being unhappy. There's another 5 star kid.

And who played instead of them?

2-star garbageman Darryl Clark, who not only couldnt make an NFL practice squad, is now being the Paterno apologist for Blue and White Illustrated. The other bum is a zero-star walk-on who had no interest from colleges despite throwing for 6 million yards at West Scranton. Now, how is that possible? Because Scranton is in an obscure location? How come Nick Raven had scolarship offers, then? What about Shrive, or the FB who was committed to Nebraska before getting hurt, or Kevin Reihner (committed to Stanford)?

Jay Paterno is using top level QB recruits to advance his own political agenda. That guy is taking kids like Clark and McGloin, who were nobodies, and is trying to use those stories as evidence of how he can take chicken **** and make chicken soup.

Sound far fetched?

I don't think Bolden is as good as you believe him to be, who knows? Maybe he's the next Joe Flacco. But from a talent standpoint, I don't like Bolden that much. And McGloin sucks even though I kinda like him. QB is a mess for the Lions. And if I recall correctly, when asked about his son being redshirted, Mr. Jones, father of Paul Jones said....."no comment" Could he ditch State College too?

Nothing sounds far fetched to me up there anymore. It's a shame that one man feels he has become bigger than the university and is letting his son use it as a playland.

Crimson...name me a few True Freshman QB's who have came in and looked amazing their first year? I thought he looked dang good for someone who had 3 weeks on campus prior to the season. I cannot think of 1 true freshman QB who has ever came in and looked great, but you deal with the bumps and bruises to get rewarded later on. The kid has one of the quickest releases and one of the best arms I've seen a PSU QB have in a long long time. I will be surprised if he doesn't get a shot somehere in the NFL down the line. He has everything the scouts look for in a QB in his skillset. He just needs to gain experience. I think whoever gets him will be very very lucky.

As far as Newsome staying, he didn't really matter to me. I think his passing mechanics are horrible. He could be a good wildcat gimmick qb but that's about it in my opinion.

That illustrates my point pretty well, not yours. If Terrel Pryor was the best of the bunch that's pretty bad. I watched a lot of his games and his throwing left a lot to be desired and still does. As you can see, most of those guys struggled. True Freshman do not come in and tear stuff up.

Yeah but where does Bolden fall on that list? I still think Bolden is looked upon as this great talent. I mean, he's okay. By no means the savior of Penn State football. He'll be alright in the MAC.
