The Pink Jersey Rule: BC Edit

The game of football has reached a dangerous fork spawned by the collision of a rise in the passing game and the fall of what Ed Rendell has dubbed a "Nation of Wussies". The moral climate is righteous. And the facts are conclusive. Someone must pay.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been unrelenting in his stance against quarterback contact, and his firm leadership has already drawn comparisons to. Although few question the Commissioner's weird devotion to superstars like Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Jeff Garcia and Eli Manning, football fans must ask "at what cost?"
At what point do we disban hope and turn to something a little bit more American? At three-second hold up? At two-hand touch? When completing a pass over the middle is easier than kicking for the extra point? At what point do we picket with long blades and flaming torches and demand Blood?
And so, my friends and fellow Americans, in order to avoid the Bloodshed, I offer the following fix:
Strange? Yes. But unreasonable? Unprecedented? Not at all.
Football has used the red practice jersey concept since the late 80s.
And the NFL has recently embraced the effeminate color and accessories to raise awareness for cancer.
Of course, Quarterbacks would be able to waive the pink jersey in exchange for a normal team jersey. But this would mean that quarterback would be treated like normal footballers; meaning they'd be subjected to the same violence that me, you and your dike Aunt Jo have all grown to know and love.
