there are some odd seeds this year. would Brady Logsdon have gotten the 2nd seed at 119? should Gartland have gone up to 135? Is Suter going to be back? i feel that if m. sollenberger and P. albright would have gotten on the bottom half of their brackets, they'd have a shot of maybe making the finals.....which would be good advancement points for nbc, now they'll have to face the top seeds in the semi's (if they make the semi's) and that's rough! all in all it should be some good wrestling this year.

I thought that some seeds looked odd as well.
125 - I thought that Phaunmiller would get the top seed over Day.
130 - Austin Miller of Berlin getting a #4 seed with a 2-0 record over inferior opponents and being a 119 lb wrestler was a surprise to me. It didn't seem to me that D5 "punished" wrestlers for moving up in weight.
152 - I'd have Shawley @ #4 instead of #6.
171 - 2-5 are tough to sort out, I thought that Albright's 2010 D5 title and superior winning percentage would get him the #2 seed, not #5. I'd go Baer/Frampton/Bussard after that, if it was upto me.

I agree on that one too... Wonder what that one is based on.

Unlike most other years, I think at a lot of weights you can throw the seedings out the window. There are a lot of weights that I wouldn't be surprised if anyone 1-4 would win. A lot of times in D5 you can bank on a 1v2 final, but that isn't the case as much this year.

Looking through the seeds I don't see many top seeds at risk in the semis - perhaps 125, 140, 189 or 285, but most 2nd seeds look to have their hands full in the semis, much more then in prior years. Call it the Somerset effect.
