I know it's a popularity contest, and where you live predicates who ya wanna see. But Come on! Game of the week. B-A/ Tyrone have been playing the opening backyard brawl since 1944. Both are fixtures in the dist. semifinals at a minimum; and both are state ranked this year. Tix in Tyrone were gone 2 weeks ago a day after they went on sale, I know a bunch of folks that put on a blue shirt and stood in line in Bellwood Monday just to get tix. That's your GOW.

That GOW thing is goofy. Last year they had they Brockway/Curwensville game as an option, both were 5-0, and both would win D9. No brainer, like you are talking about. Then it just blew up. By Wednesday night, that game had like 700 votes, and another game, Glendale/Southern Hundington (?) had like 300. Then on Thursday monring it went nuts, the Glendale game had like 1000 votes. It was obvious kids were stuffing the ballot box at school. Both games started to getting around 100 votes a minute during the school day.
Both games ended up around 25,000 or 30,000 votes. Its really not about the best game.

It's probably rigged and just a means to get people to visit their site.
I'd rather watch WTAJ anyway.

Yeah but their coverage has slide bigtime since Kellie Goodman left and I'm sure there was a budget cut in there somewhere too . That really was one of the best coverage shows for hs I've seen; it's a shame to have petered out a bit...although it still kills ch 6 and 8

Yeah, it has slid, but it still blows WJAC and FOX 8 out of the water.
You think there's any question that Tyrone and Bellwood won't be the feature game on WTAJ this Friday? NO WAY! WTAJ devotes a big portion of the newscast to the games and Penn State. I also think their preview show is better than WJAC's two-a-days, although I do like the WJAC's extended coach's interviews. Better graphics, they bring the school bands in, helmets on the desk, etc.

I disagree!
It seems like WJAC covers more local teams than WTAJ. They seem to get better coverage week to week.

Rainmaker, thank you. I want to reach out because I honestly want to see how WJAC can make our product better, and one way to do it is by asking viewers. I can assure you that nothing is rigged. Is it a popularity contest? Maybe. We open up three choices because what is the game of the week to people in Tyrone or Bellwood may not be the best game to people in Somerset or Jefferson County. Its all an attempt to appease as many people as possible.
What I want to know is what we can do to make our product better. We're always looking to improve, and I'm always open to ideas and suggestions. You may be more of a fan of WTAJ's coverage, and that's cool, but I do ask you give WJAC a chance this fall with an open mind this autumn. We're going to have a lot of everything.

So you're saying that if a bunch of putsies want to watch Rocco Mediate wash his dog on Superbowl Sunday, you'll put it on instead of the Superbowl?..Bravo
BTW, my hunting camp is in Jefferson County west of Dubois and we don't even get chan 6 up there.

I personally watch wjac over wtaj. It's probably just what people are use to. I like the coverage and friday football final reports on channel 6.
