What a mess.

Where do Cincinnati and USF end up? ACC? I'm sure Boston College is chomping at the bit to play in Lubbock. NO ONE in the Pac-10 (12) wants Fresno State. What happens to Nevada?

The latest I'm hearing on Texas is the ACC. The SEC is a no go because of academics and all of the other shady things that go on in that conference. If Texas goes to the ACC, I'm guessing Kansas, Kansas State, and Texas Tech would come along.

Texas should go independent, schedule whoever they want, play games every year in Washington, Florida, and Boston, and market that product. They are the only current school who should be an independent. I actually wouldn't be upset if UT went independent and scheduled Oregon State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Miami, etc, every week.

I wouldn't mind seeing it either, but going independent will be a last case scenario. The development of the Longhorn Network has changed everything for Texas as far as conference realignment goes. The Pac 10 wants Texas, but they would have to restructure the Longhorn Network and right now that's not an option. Texas is in a much tougher spot than they were a year ago due to their network actually launching. I'm not sure if you've seen it at all TAE, but it's a real game changer. Of course, at this point very few people can watch it since very few providers are carrying it.

On a different note, I think Texas and PSU will be scheduling each other before too long. The rumors have been flying around for two years now, so I have a feeling it gets done at some point in the near future. It'd be cool to see those two teams play each other.

I wish a lot more teams would venture back to independent. It would blow up the BCS. What would they do if Notre Dame, BYU, Texas, and say a few other schools like Oklahoma and Oklahoma State played independent schedules?

For too many schools, going independent would mean they would have a lack of money. The conference affiliation guarantees money for everyone. That's how they sucker you in!
