HHe's been cleared for full contact. Assuming he comes back and plays well, even though I do expect some rust for a few weeks, there is not doubt in my mind this is the best team in the National Hockey League when at full strength. Could be a very fun season in the Burgh. Hopefully Sid comes back takes that first hit and gets up without any repercussions.

I agree I can't wait. It has been almost a year and a half since Sid, Geno, and Staal have been in the lineup at the same time. I think the group around them is fantastic right now. Hopefully, they can all get back healthy for most of the year.

I don't care if this team enters the playoffs as an 8 seed. You give me a healthy and 100% Sid, Geno, Staal, Fleury, and defensive group I'd take them in a 7 game series over any other team in hockey.

They had the best season point wise in 4 or 5 years last year without Sid and Geno, they are so loaded they sent the Morrow kid back to Canada for the year....They stay healthy, they'll show the Heat and the Eagles what a "Dream team" looks like. I really like the addition of Richard Park too...very little drop-off lines 1 thru 4.

Malkin, Crosby, Stall, Kunitz, Kennedy, and Neal are all potential 30 goal scorers. Letang is also a threat to put up a lot of goals from the point position. Fluery looks like he could be starting for an all-star team. Sullivan is one of the best passers in the game and hungry for a championship after years with mediocre hockey teams. Excited for the season and anything less than a trip to the Eastern Conference finals is a major disappointment.

I have said this before but Shero is a master at winning trades with getting that secondary role player. Niskanen came with Neal and is playing great, Dupuis came with Hossa and is now a staple, and Tangradi was a small piece of the Kunitz deal. Getting these role players is huge without having to use draft picks or have players in the lineup that are not ready for the NHL.

Speaking of Neal, that guy looks like a completely different player. He looks like the player I thought we were getting last year. Heck he keeps this up and he might score 40 this year. And Shero is in my mind the best GM in hockey, without a doubt. Kunitz and Tangradi for Whitney, Neal and Niskanen for Goligoski, Guerin who they do not win the cup without for a 6th round pick, locking up the big 4 long term and still having cap space to pay others, free agent signings like Michalek and Sullivan. The guy is a genius.

Not only that but developing kids....how about Vitalie ? And some of the others that have been bouncing between AHL and Pitt. filling in with injuries, all are NHL ready.
