Depth Chart Justice...

Folks from outside the PSU cult have been talking about something called DEPTH CHART JUSTICE for decades.

I certainly didn't coin the term, but people have been using it to describe Paterno's system of disciplining his athletes for as long as I can recall. At the time, it was just a facetious term, one that rang true more often than not the eyes of those outside The Cult.

Tragically, the whole concept of DEPTH CHART JUSTICE fits with Sandusky. Players who particpiate in misconduct unbecoming of Success With Honor or The Grand Experiment? Walk ons get kicked off the team, scholarship players get suspended, starters clean the stadium on Sunday mornings or go to bowl games when they face charges..

HOWEVER, the folks at the top, especially "living legends" like Mr. Sandusky get an office, keys to the football offices and locker room, freedom to visit practices, free trips to bowl games with the PSU football entourage, and an honorary title as a glorified physical education professor.

It was too late for Mr. Paterno to benefit from Depth Chart Justice, the very concept that he invented.

Others use words like honor, code, loyalty, pride. They use these words as the backbone of their lives. Paterno and his accomplices used them as a punchline.

Sandusky=Depth chart justice PSU style at its worst.

Thankfully, the state and federal legal system knows no such concept as Depth Chart Justice.

All involved will pay for their particpation, enabling, and neglect of duty.
