i'm going the whole mile to let everyone no these boys first choice of sport is basketball isiah haselrig didn't play football so he could concentrate on b-ball, phillip madison goes to five star camps & plays aau ball, dwight andrews just used football as a hobby this kid could be a great one if he just didn't have such a big ego...& mark watson would be the one who i would say is an athlete that can play the game of basketball....this is a team of basketball players....

You can call them ballers, athletes, etc. or just pick any word you want to but please don't describe the JHS boys hoops team as fundamentally sound because that is one thing they definitely are not.

Who is the brain surgeon that scheduled them in a tournament against westpac teams? What a waste of games for kids who can play. So very sad that small minds are going to prevent this team from realizing its potential. Another undefeated "local" schedule season where they do not have to play as a team and get all sorts of bad habits by playing down to weak competition, followed by a loss in first round of state playoffs to a team with 7 losses.
When you have a team like this why would you deny them competition? To pad your record? With an automatic state playoff berth don't you think you would schedule some top competition to play during regular season? You just wasted 2 games. Other than McCort and maybe Westy who has the hance to even give this team a game locally?

State College can easily beat Jtown, Altoona is also on the schedule and they're well coached. Those could be 2 losses. I also think Jtown will lose one of the following games: McCort, Westmont, Somerset, or Penn Cambria.

Heck, j-town struggled with north star without strasiser, the walker bros, and fleegle, and others that didn't go out. N.s. got killed by portage and shanksville killed portage, so that tells me if you are struggling with the weak pac teams, you are in for a long season buddy!

I see where Paw Paw and Turkeyfoot have open dates next year. Maybe the Trojans can get them in a "kick off" tournament next season. Same difference.
Altoona is terrible. Holidaysburg is marginal and State College may have a half decent team. My point is that wasting two of your six non-conference games playing anyone from the pitiful westpac when you have a team like the Trojans have is nuts. What could they possibly gain from these type of games?

psycho, Altoona may not be talented, but they are a AAAA school that has a well coached team.

Altoona is 4-1 with wins against West Mifflin, Latrobe, Hollidaysburg and Allegheny MD. They lost by 7 pts to Taylor Allderdice. Not exactly terrible.
State College is 1-1 with a tough 4 pt loss to North Allegheny who just beat Shaler. I think they are better than half decent.
