Four of the five were not only flagrant but also could have been ejections.

Don't blame the refs we all know they are terrible and only after some easy money.
Blame the coach for not respecting basketball or sportsmanship enough to keep that goon off the court if he is going to play like that.

The coach should have pulled the kid your right but c'mon what wrong with the refs? Basketball needs cleaned up it looks more like thugball or mugball anymore.

Four of the five fouls were flagrant. THere was not one basketball play made by 34. He never left the ground. He never attempted to make a defensive play. 1st foul intentional. 34's 2nd foul (#3) should have resulted in his ejection. The refs are at fault for not stopping the 34's action. What was he coach thinking? How could he defend his player after seeing the video. His statements are even more infuriating in that he finds 34's behavior as acceptable based on his character. If one lives his life of 55 years in which he does not harm anyone, is seen as a decent human being but commits a murder at age 56, he is not a murderer. The coach should be fired. The kid should be thrown off the team and 42 should be suspended for a game and warned that one more incident will result in he being thrown of the team. Jonathan Wall should look at the video again. I would hope that he would retract his story. Both he and the coach should apologize to the other team, school and coach. That kid was bush-league on foul #1.

carom, I agree with what you posted. I would add that I cannot believe that a fight between players did not erupt as a result of those flagrant fouls. I saw #34 smirking and smiling while standing on the foul line following a few of those fouls. Those kids have obvious issues, but should never have seen the floor after the first 2 flagrant fouls. That is a COACHING problem first, then an officiating problem.

With the limited video, the other team is to be truly commended for keeping their composure. I would like to know the fallout.

I followed the links in the story and read some of the local articles on the matter. Seems there is a lot of hand-wringing going on over the fact that the video went viral. The poster is taking the heat, too, for sending the video to so many websites. However, I didn't see any condemnation from the newspaper editorial staff, or any kind of rebuke from the WA officials.
