didn't catch the name, not any of the local names that have been floating around.

On paper it looks like a good hire. He seems to have a boat load of experience from all over the country. However he has a lot of work ahead of him, this program has been in a downward spiral for a good while now.

His previous school went 3-8 last season (1-1 in playoffs). That was their best season since 1997. I wonder what kind of offense they will run.

All good questions. Just for my curiosity what style of offense did Everet run last year? Defense?

I think the first year or so could be tough. He will have a hard time getting a staff set up and ready to go without being around till the end of the school year and not knowing anyone in the area. Maybe Koontz will help hire a staff for him??

I think Everet going out of the area to hire a coach was a great idea, now they need to do the same with assistant coaches. A winning program is not just determined by its head coach, they need good quality assistants that are use to winning and/or have a winning attitude. Just a thought though. I wonder if this new boss can poach a couple good assistants from some other good programs.

how would a coach who's new to the area where he is coaching go about finding a new assistant staff..if he wants to look outside the old staff? would he just have to ask around?

Don't know the best way to do it and I'm glad that is not my problem. haha, but seriously probably the best thing to do is just start asking around.
