Classification notes....

I took some notice on certain things for this upcoming two year cycle.

--Somerset moves back to AAA for Football after falling behind for a few years. That puts them with Bellefonte and Johnstown. I have not heard if they will co-op with District 9 this year. But at least there is three teams now.

--District 5 has 3 AA teams and will merge with the 16 D6 teams I would assume. Everett joins Chestnut Ridge and Bedford as the three D5 teams.

--Southern Huntingdon is listed at AA despite them being "A" size. Marion Center and Bellwood-Antis both have more kids than SH.

--District Six "A" has 22 teams, and I do believe there is now an 8 team cut for playoffs, correct me if I am wrong.

southern huntingdon has a co-op with another school, but I just can't remember who. the combination put them above the class A line.

CG:

I believe these are the answers to some of your notes:

1. Somerset, Bellefonte, Johnstown, 3 District 9 teams, and ??? District 8 teams will form a AAA subregional this year.

2. District 5 is in a subregional with District 8 and 9. I believe it will work the same way it did two cycles ago. District 5 will have a championship game the weekend of subregional (or district) Quarterfinals, then play District 8 with that survivor playing District 9.

3. S.Huntingdon coops with Forbes Road and it puts them over the AA limit.

4. Not sure about the 6-A playoff structure but I think since they are playing dates it has to be just 8.

D6-A playoffs have gone back to an 8 team field this year, which allows all the teams to play a 10 game regular season schedule.

Thats a good move for AAA, felt bad there was no championship for the Johnstown kids last season. I think it hurt them.

Interesting with D5 AA. Could be Bedford-Chestnut Ridge game back to back weeks if thats the case.

Might have been three years ago when Bedford made that run.
