Couple things.

If you're a Penn State fan, it is the wrong decision to stop watching the team. Don't turn your back on that roster like the administration and the NCAA just did. Cheer your hearts out, but I for one will never purchase another Penn State shirt/hat/anything until that administration is totally removed.

As for college football in general, I've been slowly getting to the point where I was ashamed of myself for so furiously following a sport that was so biased and unfair to begin with, and even the upcoming playoff idea is not enough. I'm tired of the good old boys network that is doing everything possible to keep historically-strong programs at the top and trying desperately to counteract the 85 schollies that all D-1A schools now possess. 4 teams is not enough. It has to be 8, if not 16. It is isn't fair, the NCAA has been a joke since inception w/ their mythical national champions, and I'm sick of it. I'm just sick of it. I'm tired of the idiotic decisions such as retroactively accepting someone's opinion as the end-all, and they are doing it now w/ this Freeh report. How do you accept a report as fact when none of the people involved were ever interviewed by the guy?

The Penn State Administration should be ashamed of themselves in how everything has been handled since November. Basically, this administration has been a nightmare since at least 1998. In all seriousness, if you are not alumni, how can you even justify supporting Penn State?

Mark May is shameful. This continued nonsense about "winning at all costs" is shameful corresponding. He knows that was never the case w/ Joe Paterno. Joe was never a saint, he's obviously guilty for the Sandusky stuff, but don't make up things to dogpile. You have plenty to already degrade the guy about.

I'd be surprised if any of the kids transferred, but I think there will be 80% decommitments by this evening.

As I said, root for the kids, support O'Brien, but do not allow yourself to make Penn State purchases that will do nothing but help them fund this $60m they now owe. If you want to buy a Penn State shirt, donate the money to a sex abuse charity independently of Penn State's own contributions.

Many of those following the story are fine. That's cool. I agree Paterno made a huge mistake. Something had to be done. 60 million is a big something. That goes towards childhood abuse victims. None of the other punishments help. They hurt people that had nothing at all to do with the horrific crimes. The problem is there are plenty of people "enjoying" it. I think Mark May loves it...

Didn't Mark May play at Pitt???? I am sure there are people who are enjoying the sanctions handed down today and that does seem sad. I am not one of them. I think I remember the President from Oregon State stating during the press conference that if Penn State would of been forth coming in the first place like they have been the last few months they wouldn't of been having that press conference and none of these sanctions would of happened. I think he stated it like that?? If only one of the four would of reported this back in 2002 to the authorities we would not even be talking about this. That is the stink of all this. If just someone would of reported Sandusky.

I am being serious...PSU needs to think about shutting it down 2015-2017...With the roster of fcs/d2/walkons they will send out there, someone might really get hurt, or worse.

1. What happens when Curley, etc get found not guilty?

2. What about the ppl who donate money to the program and the endowments? Are these donations going to help pay the $60m?

Is any of the $60 million coming from OUR tax money?

Supposedly no. They already said that none will come from taxpayer money. I'm still wondering if they are able to use endowment and donation money to fund this $60 million. You would think NO, but I would also assume that if I gave you $1000 to help start up a lemonade stand, couldn't you use the money however you wanted as long as it pertained to the lemonade stand? How would YOU feel if you were an alum of a school, donated a couple million, and then had that money go to help pay off a sex abuse scandal?
