PSU gets a top QB to verbal!!!
PSU gets a top QB to verbal!!!
Daryll Clark from Ursuline HS in Youngstown, Ohio.
FROM PSUPLAYBOOK.ORG
We have just received word that Daryll Clark, a 6'3", 195 lb., 4.65/40 quarterback from Youngstown, OH (Ursuline), has committed to the Nittany Lions. Earlier in the week we had received a report that Daryll was facing an unresolved academic issue which was possibly going to require him to attend Kiski Prep School if he chose to go to Penn State. Now, it appears that this academic issue has been fully resolved.

Considered one of the best quarterbacks out of Ohio this year, Daryll (left, Ursuline HS), a three year starter, was not only an All-Area selection, but also a Big Ten Hot 100 selection from TheInsiders.
Apparently both Joe and Jay Paterno visited Daryll today and notified him that everything was cleared up with the alleged grade issue.
Daryll has a very strong arm, impressive mobility and excellent instincts with a strong ability to read defenses. He is said to be very intelligent and a leader in the huddle.
Daryll has apparently been very high on Penn State for sometime now. He has displayed a consistent interest in the program and a real desire to be part of it. As an attendee of the Group Huddle back in early December, Daryll has formed some strong relationships with current members of the Class of 2008, who are now his teammates. This visit to Penn State is said to have played a significant role in his growing interest in the Nittany Lions.
Daryll has become the most recent addition to an already strong class. He joins fellow potential Class of 2008 quarterbacks Paul Cianciolo, Kevin Suhey, Jordan Lyons and Adam DiMichelle.
The QB situation is still among the most followed positions within PSU's recruiting efforts thanks to the imminent decision of Anthony Morelli, who is expected to decide between Pitt and Penn State next week. It is unknown if Daryll's decision will impact Anthony's.
Congratulations Daryll and welcome to Penn State!

That's good in my opinion! We don't have to worry about using a redshirt or anything on him now..

i think it would be better for the nits if he went to psu next year...it wouldnt hurt him to get used to the school and focus on learning the system a little bit...

It worked out well for Curtis Enis, another Ohio recruit who took the route of Kiski Prep. And to clear it up, this is being done mostly for academic reasons, he barely got into PSU with all the weight JoePa pulls in admissions. He was inelligible at first and then all of a sudden became elligible and then "decided" to goto Kiski.

Yeah i agree a prep school is a solid move for him.... It seemed 2 work out alright for larry fitzgerald haha, but also it gives mills a chance to play and also robinson the year after, cuz we all know freshmen are becoming more and more impatient these days. and he wouldnt be playing the next year or two anyways. also PSUs playbook is not complicated as we have all noticed, i could learn it in 2 days probly as could the rest of us....
Small Feeet, Small Feeet!
