Week # 9 West Pac Preview
Shade picked up a win in a close game with Marion Center which qualifies them for the playoffs.
Good job panthers. Meyersdale picked up a win in the 3rd OT to hold on for a win. I think the
difference in this one was the Red Raiders adjustments throughout the game as they
mixed in up offensively and on defense. Good Job by Red Raiders.
CT (1-7) @ Ferndale (0-7)
The Indians and Ferndale are both struggling this season. Ferndale is hanging on just to
Complete their schedule and finish the year. CT will have this game in hand by halftime.
CT 35-7
Meyersdale (7-1) @ Shade (4-4)
Meyersdale brings a power game into this contest against a much smaller Shade team. Shade is coming
off an emotional tight win against Marion Center which assured them a playoff spot. Meyersdale
unveiled a freshman QB who had his way against the Mountain Men. Unless Meyersdale goes to
sleep in this one I don’t think Shade has the horsepower to hang with the size of the Red Raiders.
Meyersdale 42-7
Windber (5-3) @ Conemaugh Valley (1-6)
This should be a tune up for the Ramblers show down with the Mountain Men next week. I look for
Windber to continue working on their passing game and be able to run the ball at will. The jays are
building for the future and this one will not be close.
Windber 49-7
Westinghouse (1-7) @ Berlin (7-1)
The Mountain Men lost a close one which could have went either way. Berlin will be aggressive and
looking to take their frustrations out on someone this week. Meyersdale exploited the mountain men by
overloading one side of the ball and Berlin did not adjust. The Red raiders keyed Berlins stud and slowed
him down just enough to win. Remember folks even Batman had Robin.
Berlin 35-14
*******GAME OF THE WEEK*******
Portage (6-1) @ Blairsville
Both teams need this win. Portage for a better seeding in Districts and Blairsville may need this
to stay in playoff contention. (Not Sure) From what I understand Blairsville has most, if not all, of it’s
starters back in the line-up and are a much better team than they were only 2-3 weeks ago.
Last week the Bobcats had a close game for three quarters with United and that being said I
think the Stangs will gallop over the bobcats. It appears the Mustangs are firing on all cylinders
