Last week 8-1 and 50-4 ytd.

Ligonier Valley (6-4) 7
Richland (10-0) 56

Penn St lose by 49 to Ohio St two weeks ago, the highest in team history. The Steelers allowed 55 points Sunday, the highest in team history. The Rams can make it a trifecta. Their worst loss this century was by 45, 48 to 3, to Northern Cambria in 2003.

Blairsville (6-4) 14
Portage (8-1) 35

It was the Mustangs 38 to 6 two weeks ago. It could be closer, but Portage should move on.

Juniata Valley (6-4) 20
Homer-Center (9-1) 34

Hopefully the Wildcats can get a victory for the Heritage Conference. If RB M Newhouse is out, E Lee and M McAloo can get the job done.

Bishop Guilfoyle (8-2) 28
Penns Manor (9-1) 14

A very tough opponent for the Comets in #5 seed B G the winner of 8 in a row. The AM headline on page C1 Saturday was "BG tunes up for playoffs". The Marauders were 7-9-0-133 with 3 TD's passing vs United in a 48 to zero game and they will need a passing game here. This should be a great battle with the team with the fewest mistakes coming out on top.

B G at P M Saturday 7 pm and all others Friday 7 pm

Notes from last week;
The Northern Cambria - Cambria Heights rivalry game is called "The Coal Bowl" and the series was tied 21-21-1.

Purchase Line's RB Grant Syster set a school record with 302 yd rushing and lead the Heritage with 1593 yd for the season.

I read in one of the Mainline papers that somebody is doing a documentary on the Coal Bowl. I don't know any other details but it could be an interesting endeavor nonetheless.
