Well put Crimson ! Either BC blows out BG or BG wins close. The BG group is very tough mentally. Central/Richland is
intriguing. Richland blew away a senior laden Penns Valley team with ease. Richland looks to run off every rebound and
takes quick shots, and pounds the offensive boards. Central MUST rebound well and MUST get back on defense. Central
typically is patient on offense but look for them to try and fast break in this game. Richland loves to play pressure man
defense, which may be in Central's advantage. Central has quick guards in Cunningham, Slagenweit, and Lafferty and is
tough to defend as well as being tough to press. IMO, Richland is definitely favored to win, but so was Tyrone and Bald
Eagle against Central. Some even picked Mt. Union to beat them. Both teams are mentally tough and I look for a somewhat
low scoring game. Central has had different kids step up each night so who will it be tonight ?

It's kind of sad that Altoona went on to win the AAAA title because they simply weren't very good this year. In fact Johnstown beat them handily towards the end of the season and Johnstown had a rather substandard team. I just can't remember a season where the 'A' champion could easily win the AA, AAA, and AAAA district titles as well.

If you think Bishop Carroll would easily beat even this year's Altoona team, you're kidding yourself. Sure, Carroll could beat them on a given night in Ebensburg, but even with Carroll's best team in recent memory vs. An Altoona team that's below average, Carroll wins maybe 1 out of 8 games vs. Altoona. Johnstown probably wins 1/12.

Altoona beat McCort handily, and BG by about 7-8 at BG.

I've seen both teams and Carroll would beat Altoona at least 6 out of 10 times.

Me too and I say Carroll wins 1 or 2 out of 10. Altoona too physical in post. BC pressure wouldn't bother them like it does other LHAC teams.

Can't wait to see Carroll play LP in the western semis. They won't be able to pressure and run with that team. LP is MUCH better than last season when Carroll hung around and almost pulled it off.

Johnstown has actually been considerably better than Altoona over the past 5 years, and have won 4 straight in the series. Johnstown had their worst team in recent memory (maybe ever) and still beat Altoona, and BC beat Johnstown by 20. Bishop Carroll would beat this Altoona team by 7-8 points 7 times out of 10.

If you think about it, Johnstown always wins because of their quick guards. Altoona can never match their quickness. Johnstown started three guards under 5-9 last year, and Altoona started 4 kids over 6-4.....Johnstown beat them.

Looking more closely....

Madison = Martinazzi is a wash.

Maruca/Madonna > Barfield twins

Marcus Lee > Roshon Fields.

I just don't see one viable argument that would suggest Altoona would beat Carroll 9 times out of 10, it's completely foolish.
