Penn State's Men's Basketball team is 14-15 on the year with 2 regular season games remaining. To qualify for the NIT they need to finish at least at .500. Since they are guaranteed a spot in the B1G tourney here is what they must do in order to get to .500:

-Win both remaining regular season games (northwestern tonight and Minnesota Saturday both on the road). This will get them to 16-15 and whatever they do in the B1G tourney will cause them to finish under .500

-Split remaining regular season games to finish 15-16. This will require 2 tourney wins to get them to .500.

-If they don't win either game, they will be 14-17 going into the tourney. They would have to win the tourney which would give them an automatic NCAA tourney birth.

I think it is important for Chambers to get to a postseason tournament this year.

All PITT has to do is keep playing they have been to get into the NIT lol

Big game for the Nits on Sunday. And for the Gophers too. The Nits hoping for a non-losing record. The Gophers hoping for a trip to the Big Dance. At 18-12, Minnesota will probably NOT make it to the dance if they lose their final home game to PSU (unless they make a big run in the Big Ten Tournament). Who wants it more? Is it senior night at Minnesota? And how pathetic was Northwestern last night. Scoring only 32 points. Of course, we heard today about Penn State's SMOTHERING defense. I saw some of the game, and NW couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. PSU will take credit for NW's low point total, though.

I turned it on, and the announcer was saying that this is the first year that every Big Ten team had at least 5 conference wins, and that this was a testiment to how tough this conference is. Really? Went up and down the dial several times. When I saw the end of the half, and NW had only 15 points, that ended it for me. Caught the final score online later in the evening.
