My Mock Draft

It is impossible to know what each team is thinking, but if I were the GM of each them, this is what would make most sense to me. I think there will be more tackles that get drafted than what I have and less wide receivers.

1. Atlanta (Trade with Houston) Jadeveon Clowney, DE
Atlanta desperately needs a pass rusher and I don’t think Houston is set on taking any of the top QB’s with the first pick. It would make more sense for them to trade down and get an additional pick in this deep draft class.

2. St. Louis, Sammy Watkins, WR
There is a lot of talk about them taking a tackle right here but I don’t think you can pass on an elite talent like Sammy Watkins. They should still be able to get a top offensive lineman with the 13th pick.

3. Jacksonville, Teddy Bridgewater, QB
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Johnny Manziel go right here. Jacksonville needs a QB to come in and start right away and Bridgewater is the most pro ready Quarter Back in the draft.

4. Cleveland, Blake Bortles, QB
It seems like the browns miss on a QB every year. I have heard that they would like to get Derek Carr with their later first round pick but taking Bortles here makes more sense to me.

5. Oakland, Mike Evans, WR
Oakland has addressed some of their offensive line and defensive problems in free agency. They could still go in just about any direction with this pick though. They still need a quarter back but taking Mike Evans here will make whoever is playing QBs job a lot easier.

6. Houston (Trade with Atlanta) Khalil Mack, OLB
With the addition of Khalil Mack, Houston’s pass rush is scary good. They need a quarter back but I think they will wait till the second round to take AJ McCarron or Jimmy Garoppolo.

7. Tampa Bay, Greg Robinson, OT
Greg Robinson is an animal up front. He can throw around just about anyone he wants to.

8. Minnesota, Johnny Manziel, QB
Minnesota has a lot of weapons on offense including one of the best running backs to ever play the game. Adding Johnny Manziel will make them very difficult to stop at times. They have the potential to be a very good football team if they can find a replacement for Jared Allen.

9. Buffalo, Calvin Pryor, S
Buffalo will need to replace one of the top safetys in the league after losing Byrd. They also need to add weapons on offense but the WR class is very deep and they will be able to get a near first round talent in the second round.

10. Detroit, Justin Gilbert, DB
Detroit is terrible on defense. They could use an upgrade at every position other than DT. After they couldn’t stop anyone threw the air last year, I think this pick has to be Justin Gilbert or Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

11. Tennessee, Darqueze Dennard, DB
Tennessee needs to replace Verner at corner and Dennard is arguably the best corner in the draft. He ran a slow 40 time which hurt his draft status but he still has great ball skills and is very physical.

12. New York Giants, Timmy Jernigan, DT
The Giants need a big run stuffer up the middle and that is exactly what Jernigan is.

13. St. Louis, Jake Matthews, OT
The Rams are in need of offensive line help. They made some signings in free agency but you can’t pass on a talent like Jake Matthews at the 13th pick.

14. Chicago, Aaron Donald, DT
Chicago needs a lot of help on defense and Aaron Donald is a great place to start. He is fast off the ball and the offense will have no choice but to double team him. That will help the defense significantly.

15. Philadelphia (Trade with Pittsburgh) Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S
Philadelphia is stacked on offense but lacks play makers on defense. If Clinton-Dix falls this far they will look to trade up before Dallas, Baltimore, and Green Bay. Look for Baltimore or Green Bay to try to trade up as well.

16. Dallas, Kony Ealy, DE
Dallas just parted ways with their whole D Line and will need to find replacements fast if they even want to be a factor this season.

17. Baltimore, Eric Ebron, TE
Baltimore gets a steal here. If Ebron isn’t left they could look to get Taylor Lewan or Marqise Lee at this pick.

18. New York Jets, Marqise Lee, WR
The Jets added Eric Decker to the roster but still seriously lack offensive weapons.

19. Miami, Taylor Lewan, OT
After losing two starting linemen due to bullying, which I don’t know how a 300 pound man can get bullied, they could use as many linemen as they can get.

20. Arizona, C.J. Mosley, MLB
They need help at corner but you can’t pass on a talent like C.J. Mosley. The only reason he fell is from the pure need that other teams have at other positions.

21. Green Bay, Dee Ford, DE
Putting Dee Ford on the same side as Clay Matthews will be a scary sight for opposing offenses. You can only double team one of them.

22. Pittsburgh (Trade with Philadelphia) Louis Nix III, DT
The reason I think they trade down is to acquire an additional draft pick since they are short one. If they don’t trade down I can see them taking C.J. Mosley or Ebron with the 15th pick. They need a lot of help on the defensive line but if they take Mosley at 15 that would give them two MLB’s that can make plays all over the field.

23. Kansas City, Kelvin Benjamin, WR
Benjamin is a big receiver that can go get the ball. That would help take the pressure off Jamal Charles.

24. Cincinnati, Anthony Barr, OLB
Cincinnati really needs a corner back but passing on a talented pass rusher here would be a big mistake.

25. San Diego, Jason Verrett, DB
Jason Verrett is a little under sized but makes up for it with good instincts and good ball skills.

26. Cleveland, Brandin Cooks, WR
Cooks is a fast receiver that can catch short passes and make people miss. He should get open a lot from the attention that Josh Gordon brings on the other side of the field.

27. New Orleans, Kyle Fuller, DB
They did improve their safeties this offseason but could still use some help at corner. They also could be looking for a pass rusher here.

28. Carolina, Allen Robinson, WR
Carolina is in desperate need of some WR’s and Allen is one of the best overall WRs in the draft. The only reason he isn’t a top 3 receiver is his lack luster 40 time. I think he we be a solid pro receiver.

29. New England, Jace Amaro, TE
New England is in need of some defensive lineman but must of the top prospects are off the board by now. I think they go TE here due to the fact that Gronkowski is injury prone and they could use another solid TE.

30. San Francisco, Jarvis Landry, WR
San Francisco is a pretty complete team but could use some help at the receiver position.

31. Denver, Bradley Roby, DB
The Broncos have made a lot of moves in free agency but still could use some depth at corner. Roby has had some off the field issues but is a very talented player.

32. Seattle, Odell Beckham, WR
Wide receiver is really the only need for the Seahawks. If they don’t take Beckham here, they will select the best available player, possibly Zack Martin.

Of course I disagree with some of your picks...that's what mocks are for...but nice job nonetheless!

This is some great insight, very well thought out. Before Thursday I probably would have disagreed with a lot of your stuff but free agency changed the whole complexity of the draft and I basically agree with everything
