Pitt at Virginia Saturday 7:30 on Root Sports

Pitt is now a very disappointing 3-2 heading into conference play. The Panthers' season is not over, but things do not look good in a pretty quick turn of events. If Pitt can win this one and get to 4-2 and 2-0 in the ACC, it will settle everyone down. I still think Pitt has some good pieces, but as I've said all along the defense lacks playmakers and depth. Corners and Ends are not getting the job done. Voytik isn't doing awful, he's just playing like a first year starter. He needs to step up, and Chryst needs to open things up on offense and let Voytik run around more earlier in the game, rather than try to run the ball for three quarters and only use Voytik when you need him.

Virginia is actually better than many were anticipating. They beat a fairly good Louisville team, hung with a good BYU team on the road, and gave UCLA some trouble in week one. They can throw the ball, and they will test Pitt's bad corners.

I don't know what Pitt team shows up, I hope it's the one that took care of Boston College on the road and they win 28-17. Or it could be the team that lost to Akron, and Virginia wins 35-13.

This is the game where you count out Pitt, but they win. I'm not sure about Virginia. Mike London was to be on the hot seat this year, but he is a heck of a recruiter. Virginia has added quite a bit of talent. Maybe it is finally showing up. I know Virginia is good against the run, so Voytik might need to win this game. That is scary for Pitt fans. The question will be Virginia's offense. If they play well, I think Pitt could lose handily. If they leave Pitt in the game, I think Pitt could put enough points on the board to win. This is a swing game for Pitt, in my opinion. If they lose, the season could be a disaster. Win and they can salvage a 7-5 or 8-4 season. Never underestimate a team that was embarrassed the week before, but I think Virginia does just enough to win 24-20

Virginia is definitely better than most were expecting them to be. Virginia recruits very well, so it's starting to show up on the field a little more.

Penn State and Pitt would be very wise to get into the Tidewater (Virginia Beach) area. The talent level is much greater than Pittsburgh

Yea, Virginia Beach is loaded with talent. Pitt was in the final two with a good four-star receiver from there last year, Jamil Kamara, but he opted to stay closer to home with Virginia.

The Va Beach area has been able to sustain Virginia Tech as a perennial top 25 team for a long time now. It's definitely a good hot spot.
