West Pac Week Nine Predictions: YTD 35-5

With the playoffs on the horizon this week should prove to be interesting for the teams that are a bit
Lower in the standings. Now, I am not sure but I believe most teams will pick up a game in week 10 giving them
An outside shot to get their fourth win and advance to the D5 Playoffs
.

Black Lick Valley (4-4) @ Berlin (7-1)

Black Lick is getting better but nowhere near good enough to compete with Berlin. BlackLick may score if Berlin
gets caught looking ahead to next week’s rematch with Portage. Either way, I’m going to say Berlin scores
as many as they want to prior to yanking starters, 42 seems to be the magic number when the coaches put
the breaks on. So with that in mind

Prediction-Berlin 42- 0

Conemaugh Valley (1-7) @ Portage (8-0)

Portage will be looking at nexts week match up as well.
Prediction- Portage 56-0

Conemaugh Twp. (2-6) @ Ferndale (0-8)

I don’t know if Twp. still has a shot at the playoffs or who they would play in week 10 (My guess NS) either way Peyton Saturday has given all a defensive game plan that seems to work. With that in mind I think Ferndale actually has a shot in this one. In the end I think CT will be a bit too much. If anyone can comment on what the H*** is going on over there I for one would be interested in hearing it. I understand using your workhorse to get the job done, however, this is really getting to be a bit ridiculous. I don’t have the numbers but, have heard through the grapevine that some 52 touches out of 73 plays does not present opposing teams with much of a problem preparing. Either way that’s more of a question for the coach to answer.

Prediction CT 28-14

Meyersdale (6-2) @ North Star (3-5)

North Star needs a win to get into the playoffs. That doesn’t matter to the red raiders as they will be breathing fire after back to back weeks of losing one sided games. Meyersdale is too much for North Star and this game will not be close at all.
Prediction Meyersdale 42-7

Shade (5-3) @ Windber (3-5)

Much like North Star, Windber needs a win to get into the playoffs. Once again, I don’t think it happens this week. Shade is a solid team and I look for them to handle Windber. Windber has been up and down and if they can find some consistency and wrap up a little on defense they might be in this game for a while. Shade has been getting better each and every week and I still look for them to cause some teams headaches once the playoffs roll around.

Prediction Shade 35-21

Prediction Shade 35-21[/quote]

Windber is 4-4 and in the district 5A playoffs. The coaching staff has done a great job with the sub-par talent they have this year. I think Windber can win against Shade. The problem that might happen is that the kids already know if they loose against Shade they stay home in week 10 and play Blacklick if they win they go on the road to Myersdale.
