Padres offseason

Having our 21 year reign of agony in the not so distant past; I thought a discussion on what the new GM in San Diego is doing. No doubt Friar fans are excited already about Kemp, Upton, and Will Myers. But man did he hammer their stockpile of young talent. 2 years from now after they pay Upton 15 mil for this year and he leaves FA, who do they call up? I'm wondering if the new guy is a relative of the owner or a fantasy baseball contest winner.
