NBCsports just reported that the NCAA is in current talks to restore Paterno's wins and drop the $60 million fine. Does anyone else think this is just their way to get Penn State and the Paterno family to drop the lawsuits that the NCAA is sure to lose?

To put it as simply as I can....YES.

Now the former Chairman of the NCAA admitted to not even reading the Freeh report before they sanctioned Penn State. So there's that.

I read an article not too long ago predicting that the NCAA would lose control of overseeing major college football and each new "power conference" would patrol their own teams and schools respectively. They said the NCAA wouldn't just go extinct as they would still oversee all lower divisions and independent teams.

If Penn State doesn't drop this lawsuit this thing COULD go VERY badly for the NCAA. It's already been proven many times over how badly they botched this situation/investigation. They're trying to tread some water here giving PSU back some previous accomplishments and $$$ however If I'M Penn State I stay the course and turn the tables on the NCAA in court and cripple them.

I think Penn State will eventually agree to a settlement but I don't believe the NCAA will get that lucky with the Paterno family.

Just seen on ESPN.COM that the NCAA will reinstate the wins taken off the PSU football team leaving JoePa once again as the wins leader in Division one college football
