Wow, Somerset wins championship and plays mars who is the 5th seed. Mars is 24-2 and is pa 29th ranked team. Some 5 seed to play for a darn 1st round game. Unreal!

Mars was the #1 seed in the WPIAL tournament and got upset in the quarterfinals. Tough draw for Somerset for sure.

How about West Middlesex in AA? They win D10 and got Lincoln Park, some 6 seed.

Yeah, that's what's killer about the WPIAL playoffs is you'll get some big upset that in turn upset the apple cart when it comes to seeding in the PIAA brackets.

Completely looked past Mars, but I did double take when I saw Lincoln Park when I pulled the brackets up this morning!

I have to say, I've been to the championships for both football and basketball and while I enjoyed myself more at the football finals, I think the run to the finals is far more enjoyable on the basketball side of things. Perhaps it's knowing we have two solid weeks of mostly high quality games (some of the first rounders notwithstanding).

Let the madness begin!

Mars is no joke. Very solid team. Difficult draw for Somerset, but far from impossible game for them to win.

Ambridge beat hollisdaysburg by only 3 and ambridge beat mars 2 out of 3. I think somerset might have a chance.
