West Pac Week # 9 Predictions   (YTD---35-5)
Ferndale (0-8) @ CT (6-2)
Ferndale will finish out the regular season winless.  The jackets made it through the year and had extra bodies on the sideline in all of their games.   Regardless of the seasons results they will only get better and with the new classifications coming out they might see some light at the end of the tunnel for next year.   CT on the other hand has seen the light and will continue that trend next year as they are composed of primarily Jr. heavy team.  CT gets a tune-up game this week before they meet up with a scrappy CV team which was a close game earlier in the season.
Prediction CT 52-0

North Star (2-6) @ Meyersdale (4-4)
NS has been struggling and will have their hands full with a Meyersdale team that came out of the gate and played Portage toe to toe for 3 Quarters before falling off.  Both of these teams like to throw the ball and with the fields in the condition they will be in this week I would say Meyersdale pulls away big.
Prediction Meyersdale 35-7

Berlin (8-0)@ Blacklick Valley (3-5)
Blacklick gave up 72 points to Windber.  I’m guessing that Berlin could win by as many points as they want but that isn’t really their style.   This is one team that doesn’t believe in style points.  Berlin has to be on their toes as Blacklick has a back who can move the sticks.   Considering Berlins Defense I would have to say
Prediction Berlin 48-6

Portage (7-1) @ CV (5-3)
This one has the potential of being a close game if Portage gets caught looking ahead.   CV is going to empty the cupboards on this one as they desperately need a win to get into the playoffs.  With Portage this week and CT next week they definitely have a chance to pull off an upset.   As I stated earlier the wet field conditions would seem to benefit CV as they struggle with the passing game.   Portage passes very efficiently and this could slow them down a bit.  I think Portage gets in done and widens the spread in the second half.
Prediction Portage 42-14

Windber (2-6) @ Shade (3-5)
This one is a very interesting game.   You can consider it a home game for both teams.  Windber actually can still make the playoffs with back to back wins.   Shade can sneak in and seal up a spot with a win this week.   This game also can impact next week’s game(See below).  Windber shocked me with their second half explosion last week and maybe they have found something they can continue to ride this week.   Shade is getting healthier and I look for them to stifle the Ramblers with their defense.  This game should be the most entertaining this week as both teams are fighting for a playoff spot.
Prediction Shade 28-14

From what I can tell here is how I have next week lining up based on the above predictions:

[ol][li]Portage @ Berlin[/li]
[li]Conemaugh Valley @ Conemaugh Twp[/li]
[li]Shade @ Meyersdale[/li]
[li]Windber @ BLV[/li]
[li]Ferndale @ North Star [/li][/ol]

If your predictions are correct, North Star and Windber would both finish 2-7.  North Star beat Windber earlier this season.  It would appear that North Star would travel to Blacklick Valley and Windber would host Ferndale.

Yes that would seem to be correct.
