Offseason

D5 returns to UPJ, 2 weeks before regionals, UPJ doubled the fee but D5 wants to stay.

Any update on changes to the D6 seeding formula?  Some schools (including Westmont and Ligonier Valley) were vocally upset with the system last year regarding  last year, particularly the 138 lb weight class and the 7 top seeds that Huntingdon had.

Any updates on SW regional tournament location?

My opinion is that the SW regional tournament should be seeded better...occasionally the 5th/6th "best" wrestlers don't qualify for Hershey due to the setup.  As an example D7 top seed, D7#2, #3, D6#1 and D5#1 can easily meet in bottom of bracket 1/4finals and by setup 1 of them won't go to Hershey.  imo D5/6/7 wrestle enough that seeding 1-8 or even to 15 can be done.

PIAA apparently will seed the individual state tournament.  Details have been scarce to me, but apparently current year record as well as prior year regional and state placefinishes will be the factors.  My guess is that this will only be done for the regional champs and mostly impacting the 5 region AAA bracket.

Glendale coach had some battles with the administration, Eknop has had some nice articles.

Berlin's new coach = ?

Shade's program done?

That's all well and good, for the Twits. For those of us who have a life outside electronic devices, I thought it a revelation.

My internet comes from electronic devices, how do you get yours? Lol. I don't have a twitter account but apparently everyone else does and that is how kids communicate these days.

Not looking for a pissing contest here, but You were the one who brought up the twit account.  That leads anyone reading with a lick of common sense to believe you do too.  Yes, I have the internet as a modern 'concession'.  I'm not really crazy about it either.  God forbid some third world country sets off a nuke and its accompanying EMF blast knocks out all power and electronics.

I don't have a Twitter account as you don't need one to see what people tweet. I was just putting some facts out there for those who wanted to see.

Fair enough.  I learned something about something I knew nothing about.  My initial post intent was the same as yours.

Back to high school wrestling...
Apparently PIAA is expected to reduce state qualifier numbers back down to 16, after being @ 20 for 2 years.

Happy to hear that. I heard a rumbling that PIAA was going to three classes in 17-18 but apparently there wasn't much to evidence to prove the statement true. Has anyone heard anything?
