I think that Ryan put up a good fight but he just didn't have what it took to overpower garret!! But it was a good match.

it was a good match???? ryan put up a good fight??? you've got to be kidding me ! ryan just layed there. he wrestled hard for the first 20 seconds and he was done. i can only imagine how frustrating it must be for scott to wrestle guys like mcintyre that don't open up and wrestle him. it seems that their only goal is to not get pinned.

If Scott is so great, then why didn't he just let Ryan up and keep taking him down,,instead of just laying his chest on Ryan's back and acting like he was trying to turn Ryan....I will be the 1st to admitt,,Garrett is something special and should be a 4 time state champ,,,but Ryan gives everything he has for 6 mins. Good luck to both guys at regionals

im not disputing that mcintyre is a strong competitor, but to say he wrestled hard for 6 minutes is moronic. he layed there like a chump, and the whole district saw it. the same thing happened in the semis for garrett. the kid layed there looking like he just didnt want to get decked. and if youve ever watched garret, youd know that he doenst "take em down, let em up." he knows his abilitity, and feels there isno need to embarass a kid whom he knows he will beat anyways. my question is did mcintyre have someting on his arms to prevent garret from getting a grip on him? i cant see why hed make it up, hes too good a kid to do that. besides, i remember that tipton was suspected for employing the same method. and if there was nothing there, then why was marko wiping down mcintyre's arms during the timeout? im not accusing, im just curious

umm...i'm assuming that since you were there you would have had to seen a wrestling match before, is it possible that he was wiping sweat off of him?

McCloskey and McIntyre are quality wrestlers that know enough to pick their spots. If you got an opponent the quality of Scott, you need to hope he makes a mistake, then capitalize. If you open things up against him, you're gonna end up looking like a Snyders pretzel.McCloskey in the semi's was close to scoring on an escape at the edge of the mat in the second, and a reversal at the end of the second. But it was not to be,and he went down like everyone else this year, without scoring a point,7-0.
Instead of griping about others,I think we oughtta be praising Garretts talent. It's not often you can speak of good wrestlers "balling up" in hopes of surviving a phenom. It's a tribute to how great Garrett Scott is.

if i remember correctly Garrett was the one that got a stalling warning called against him for just laying on top of Ryan. Ryan never got called for it.

walter4, dont insult my knowledge of the sport because you didnt like what i had to comment about. and dont give me the sweat line either, cause mcintyre is obviously well conditioned, so i really doubt he was sweating. he sure wastn when he came off the matt after the final bell.
