I did hear that an excuse was, that it was the team's first road game, and in front of a packed house. Funny though, no one gave that as a reason for Kent State's loss last week.

3 reasons why penn state loss.

1. Defense sucked (pitt neutralized this though with their sucky defense)

2. Turnovers

3. Failed redzone attempt in 4th when they could of tied the game

Some people like to blame Play calling. They scored 39 so for the first time in a long time it wasn't the offense. The defense couldn't stop anyone. Pitt didn't need to get cute, they punched them in the mouth. As a Penn state fan , that was the most disheartening.

Their run game yielded ONLY 74 total yards. Also NO sacks by the PSU defense.

Pitt was the better team yesterday. States defense didn't adjust well to motion and it really hurt them. State on offense , the oline was still pretty shakey at times. Pitt used their running game well and went roll out play action off it to get big plays and touchdowns. As a Penn State fan depth at LB is an issue, have all new starters on the Dline hurt also but its no excuse for not making adjustments earlier and some poor play calling at times. For Pitt this was a nice win, they played hard and used their strengths to their advantage. I look forward to seeing this game played in the future.
