Bald Eagle Area (3-1) @ Central (3-1)...Some may argue that based on the records this should be the "Game of the Week" in the Mountain League but the Eagles record may be a bit deceiving. BEA's lone loss was a 23 point defeat at the hands of Penns Valley whom the Dragons just defeated 41-8 last week. The Eagles are coming off a surprising 3-0 OT victory over a decent Chestnut Ridge team which I still can't figure out. Central's starting defense hasn't allowed a score in 3 of their 4 games and I believe will be too much for the Eagles. Hoenstine is currently 3rd in the state with 15 TDs...Central 45 Bald Eagle 6.

Philipsburg Osceola (0-4) @ Chestnut Ridge (2-2)...Everyone is well aware of the Mounties struggles and I don't see them coming to an end this week. I'm not sure we know what exactly Ridge has yet this year given their schedule. An early season win over Everett, a split with two out of state teams followed up with last weeks 3-0 OT loss to Bald Eagle. Look for the Lions to get the offense back on track against a PO team giving up 48 ppg...Chestnut Ridge 48 PO 12.

Central Mountain (1-3) @ Clearfield (3-1)...The Bison continue to come out on top in close games after pulling out a 14 point win over Huntingdon that was tied in the 3rd quarter. Clearfield takes a step up in classification this week but CM gives up 35 ppg and their lone win came last week in a 24-21 defeat of Bellefonte...Clearfield 35 Central Mountain 21.

Huntingdon (1-3) @ Penns Valley (1-3)...In what looks like a ho hum matchup of 1-3 teams could prove to be a turning point for whichever comes out on top. Unlike Clearfield the Bearcats of Huntingdon have struggled coming out on top of the close games and could very easily be 3-1. A 1 point loss to 4A Bellefonte and a heartbreaking OT loss at Tyrone all could have easily gone the other way. Not to mention being tied with Clearfield in the 3rd quarter last week. Penns Valley also has a couple tough losses on their record and after watching them last week I can say they are much improved even in a 33 point loss at Central. Tempted to go with the Rams here but think Border and the Bearcat running game will be too much...Huntingdon 28 Penns Valley 21.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Bellefonte (2-2) @ Tyrone (3-1)...The Red Raiders two losses have come in a 5 point game vs a 3-1 Jersey Shore team and a 3 point loss @ 5A Central Mountain. Bellefonte has a 1 point win over a Huntingdon team which took Tyrone to OT. I still believe Tyrone is the better team but the big question mark is the health of the Golden Eagles. Starting QB Denver Light finished last weeks game on the sideline on crutches although the backup Hicks did a nice job finishing off Philipsburg. Tyrone was also without starting RB Gary Weaver but backup Loose is a tough player and very good...Tyrone 27 Bellefonte 20.

I have heard the same thing. Weaver out for the year, Light for a couple weeks. Bellefonte may get that win tonight after a lot of years
