Returning a blocked FG for a TD is HUGE!

PSU got hammered by Michigan who runs a prostyle offense and ran downhill at them for most of the game. PSU has small DE's who are quick as edge rushers. Ohio State puts their offensive tackles on an island in pass pro and the PSU edge rush got the better of them. Especially in the second half. If Ohio state would have committed to the downhill, 2 back running game, it may have been a different ball game. They did have that 1 big TD run, which involved a two back set and their play side OT base blocked the PSU DE. I think their #1 tailback only had 10 carries.
PSU made plays when they had to, and OSU struggled to find offensive identity. Had lots of yards, but didn't really find 1 area to pick at and capitalize on. The white out beaver stadium crowd probably didn't help their cause either.
PSU could be in trouble against both Iowa and Mich. State because of their willingness and ability to pound the downhill running game. 300+ lb OT vs. 230/240 lb DE is a tough match up for a full game. PSU may not have enough depth to hang for the full game.
Last night should do a lot for PSU in the recruiting department. Can't imagine a much better atmosphere to have a recruit take in.

PSU starting DE's are listed at 260. MSU is not the team they have been and have not played up to the level of a top BIG10 team. PSU has become a better team since week 1 and will continue to grow. Ohio States lack of a passing game, especially down field is what really hurt them last night. Penn State came into the game and focused on stopping the run, which for the most part the did a fair job. JT's poor passing last night is what really hurt the offense. Once PSU forced them to pass and Sickles came back in the second half, the tide turned on OSU. I believe OSU did get out coached in some areas last nigth, which when youre in a close game wont help. Going forward, the 2 teams you said will give PSU a very tough game. I would imagine all the game left PSU should be favored and that Indiana will be the toughest game they play.

How's it looking for PSU to be their division champ and play in the Big Ten Championship game? If Michigan wins all their conference games that are left (including beating OSU) they will be the representative for their division. If OSU beats Michigan and loses no other conference games, and PSU loses no other conference games, OSU, Michigan and PSU will all have the same conference record, a 3-way tie. There will be NO head-to-head (1st criteria) tiebreaker. The second tie-breaker criteria for 3 teams is, record of the tied teams. OSU and Michigan will have only one loss. PSU will have 2. Imagine if PSU is left out of the divisional championship game because they lost to Pitt.

Lets get this straight, penn state is not good enough to win out.

They lucked into a win last night! Im a huge Penn state fan but 99/100 times ohio states closes that game out easily. It was a miracle but penn state will still only have 8 or 9 wins by the end of conference play

Luck? I don't think so. The weaknesses OSU had going into that game was their offensive line and their passing game. PSU loaded the box, blitzed the heck out of them and depended on their experienced CBs to handle the coverage. It work to near perfection for them. I'd even be as bold as to say if Gesicki and Thompson didn't go down early in the game, PSU wouldn't have needed to come from behind. When he was healthy, he was their main target and they were running on all cylinders. And when Sickells came in for the 2nd half he destroyed them. It showed weaknesses many knew were there, but no teams were able to capitalize.  No, this game PSU earned, no luck at all

Yes luck.... why was ohio state up 21-7 going into 4th? Do you really believe penn state was getting a TD if that ball wasnt blocked and took a lucky penn state bounce!!!!

It was a perfect lucky bounce to get Penn state the game winning TD.

And what about that phantom hog-collar call on Barkley giving PSU a 1st down, and the defensive pass interference which wasn't called on PSU late in the 4th quarter. Was that luck too?
