How can you guarantee having a team a year in advance?  With the raising tuition rates, how can you even guess how many kids are going to be in the school next year.  Is it going to be a requirement for all exchange students to sign up for the football team?

Current players and students in grades 9-11 were asked who was seriously interested. Over 30 signed up. Not sure how many international students were included in that but I believe 2 or 3 played this year so I imagine they were counted.
How does any sport or team guarantee participation for the following year?

That's the point, you can't guarantee it. Generally most sports have an in-school sign-up a month or two prior to the start and you can get a rough idea. If 30 students signed up that probably means there will be about 24-25

They had 15 kids on their Jr high team last year and Holy Name no longer carries football.  The kids played either at CC or PC.  So they probably will have a team but it will be the same as this year probably worse.

SAYING you want to play out of season is not the same as playing out the season once it starts

I can vividly remember in school there being 60-70 kids at the "sign up" meeting during school. Typically took place around Christmas time. But come first day of camp, we always had 45-50 kids. Why were there so many at the sign up meeting? Because it was held during (enter class title here) class and it was a way to get out of class for the day.

Absolutely Peyton or they didn't want to look like a sissy in front of their peers. Once camp started they were nowhere to be found.

Let's see, sit in science class and listen to the teacher bore me to death about the reproduction cycle of the indigenous plants of the rain forest.....ORRRR go to the gym, hang out with my buddies, and BS all period. Decisions decisions.

That's exactly what 10-20 kids in every one of these sign up meetings is thinking.
