West Shamokin 6 - Westy 6 Halftime

The enigma that is Westmont football.  

They are what they are. A mediocre football team. I have been trying to tell you guys that. 12-9 West Shamokin late in the third quarter. 

Looks like you might be right about that one.

I was hoping they would at least get past West Shamokin so Ligonier could destroy them, but they might not even get there. 

I have a hard time figuring Westmont. I'm trying to figure how the beat Somerset 34-7. Just a strange team. I admit, I thought they would do better this time around as opposed to last year.

Oh, and they almost beat Johnstown.....WTF

Westy 16 - West Shamokin 12

According to a local sportswriter on twitter, Westmont ran 21 plays to West Shamokin's 2 plays in the 3rd Q. However WS outscored WH 6-3 in the 3rd Q. What a statistic.

All very true. I think part of it is what a previous poster said. Westmont isn't great at defending the pass. They try to rely on their pass rush to get to the opposing quarterback. If you can block them they can be thrown on. In the playoffs, teams usually are more balanced, and able to throw. Then once they get down Westmont isn't built to come back. Therefore, their style isn't very conducive to playoff football. 
Westmont hold on... I guess I get my wish after all. At Ligonier on Friday night!
