Couldn't help but notice the name Bruce Shaffer at Ferndale.  Wondered what happened to this kid who was a SOPH starter at Everett.  No record of any transfer approval by D6 committee?  Did he play at Ferndale last year as a JR?  Why do I see many, many transfers in the District 6 minutes but none from some of the high profile transfers that take place?

If I had to sort out the LHAC (which is not easy) I'd go like this.

Section I

1. Bishop Guilfoyle
2. Central Cambria
3. Forest Hills
4. Bishop Carroll
5. Penn Cambria
6. Cambria Heights

Section II

1. Johnstown
2. Westmont
3. Bishop McCort
4. Richland
5. Somerset
6. Bedford

I think Central Cambria or BG could finish 1-2 in that section. Depends how quickly their football players acclimate.  In Section II, Johnstown, McCort, Westmont and even Richland are all capable of winning that section. It's really a toss-up.
I have been trying to decide how I would rank Section 2.  I really don't know how I would rank 1-4.  Man there is going to be some very fun basketball to watch!

I would rank Section II like this:

1. Bishop McCort
2. Westmont
3. Johnstown
4. Richland
5. Somerset
6. Bedford

I think that Johnstown and Richland will be a toss up. It all depends on how fast the young guys for Richland step up and take a leadership role.

I think 1-4 will be a real battle, each team has a flaw or weakness.  I'm not sure McCort has a ton of depth, Westmont needs a point guard, Johnstown may have trouble scoring, Richland is on the young side.

Shaffer had more varsity minutes as a freshman than as a sophomore at Everett. Moved to Johnstown. Transfer was approved by PIAA.

The Crimson Crushers return three starters off a 15-8 team from last season.  Imil Britt, Andre Nash, and Logan Kasper form a very strong backcourt, while junior forward Matt Petrosky could be poised to have a breakout season.

2. Bishop Guilfoyle
The Marauders may be slow out of the gates, but will be a force late in the season.  Most of this team plays football, and it takes a while getting into the rhythm of basketball.

3. Moshannon Valley
6'7" Connor Holbinko is the anchor of this team.  Curtis Neff is also a key player back for the Knights. They finished 16-8 last season and nearly upset a pretty good Bishop Carroll team in the playoffs.

4. Homer Center
Homer Center had a dream season in 2016, but many of those players are gone.  Still, this is always a consistent program and they should be a good team, but probably not a repeat of 27-1.

5. West Branch
West Branch has won 59 games the past three seasons. The Warriors will lose four starters and rely heavily on Justin Rothrock. It'll be a new look team, but they deserve the benefit of the doubt for now.

Just Missed - Portage, Penns Manor, Purchase Line
United starts out 4-0. And they beat homer.
