A few more seeds finalized tonight.

Missed One Crimson.  In AA District 5-3 (Conemaugh Twp. or Northern Bedford)  plays at 4-3 (Muncy or Canton) on Tuesday March 7 with the winner of this "play in" game getting 3-1 (Halifax) in the 1st round game on Sat. March 11.

I thought they got away from the "play-in" games. 

Isn't the 5A and 6A technically play in game?

In a sense, yes, but not really at the same time because the state tournament starts next weekend. And the 6A classification is on on track with every other district.  It appears this District 5 consolation team has to play Wednesday for the opportunity to play next Saturday. 

Weird that it doesn't mention this game on the PIAA bracket. It just says 4-3 plays 3-1.

And for 2018 it has 5-3.  The districts were to alternate but it's obviously more fair since these two districts tied for the 32nd spot in the tournament based on the PIAA formula that they play for it rather than alternate/share it.

It protects a really good team from either district who might get upset in the semifinals from missing out because it happened in the odd or even year.  Great move by both district committees.  Guarantees the best 3rd place team gets in the tournament by playing for it.

HR, I am so disappointed that District 5 didn't utilize the stroke of genius known as Follow The Winner to determine the 5-3 bid.

So in girls 3A the 3rd place team plays 7-2 and the 4th place team plays 7-3????
