Mountain League Week 2

Bald Eagle Area (2-0) @ Penns Valley (1-1)...The Eagles look for their first 3-0 start in who knows how long while the Rams look to bounce back from a 30 point loss at the hands of Clearfield. I'm riding the BEA train for 1 more week. Bald Eagle 34 Penns Valley 28.
Bellefonte (1-1) @ Philipsburg-Osceola (1-1)...Bellefonte looks like they got some things going offensively last week in hanging with Huntingdon for a majority of the game before falling 52-31. P-O on the other hand was unable to get anything going against BEA and lost 48-0. Except more of the same for the Mounties this week. Bellefonte 41 Philipsburg 6.
Tyrone (0-2) @ Huntingdon (2-0)...The Golden Eagles are likely looking at the first 0-3 start in quite some time. The Eagles have some issues up front protecting their QB and the loss of one of their WR on the outside does not help. Tyrone fell last week to Central in a game that wasn't as close as the 31-14 score indicated. Huntingdon, one of the early favorites in the 2017 season, showed some holes on defense against Bellefonte in a game that was tied at 24 early in the 2nd half but leaned on their explosive offense and special teams to pull away and win 52-31. Huntingdon hasn't beaten Tyrone in quit some time but this year I just can't see the Golden Eagles keeping up. Huntingdon 42 Tyrone 21.
Clearfield (2-0) @ Central (1-1)...The Bison have won their first two games by a combined score of 63-12 and seem to have the offense clicking on all cylinders. With the graduation of stud RB Seth Caldwell the Bison have been leaning on a very successful passing game led by JR QB Isaac Rumery (24-35, 434 yds, 7 tds, 2 ints) and an experienced WR corp. Fortunately one of the strengths of a very good Dragons defense has been the ability to get after the QB (7 sacks @ Tyrone) and they will need to continue that to keep a very good Clearfield offense in check. The Bison have had the number of the entire Mountain League for a few years now but I'm going with the home(r) team this week in a close one. Central 30 Clearfield 28. ;)
