There are 53 schools in Pennsylvania that sponsor college football

3 FBS
8 FCS
15 Division II
27 Division III

As of today, 4 of the FCS teams won't be playing this season, all 15 D2 schools won't be playing, and 9 of the D3 schools won't be playing. I'm sure that number is not done growing, and I'm sure that does not bode well for high school football.

Or perhaps basketball.

The PSAC’s decision will wipe out 1/3 of the season at the very least.

Enjoy your memories of what was. There will be no normalcy from here out.

The schools and leagues that have cancelled thus far don't generate revenue from sports, especially if they are"t able to sell tickets. It is just an additional expense that they can't afford. Now if the big boys are willing to give up the TV money......wow. The gloom and doomers will really celebrate.

Yea, there won't be non-conference basketball for leagues that are doing the January 1st thing. I'm sure that throws off some Division-1 schedules with the Ivy league opting to go that route.

Are people actually celebrating the way we're stuck living right now?

That doesn’t really answer the question. I haven’t seen people celebrating all the deaths and lockdowns. Are people actually doing that?

Nobody is doing that.. This isn't a place to discuss politics. People just want to be safe.

But it becomes political when 1 group of people tries to force their beliefs and control over another group of people....... Yes, people do want to be safe, but many of us do not want safety at the cost of liberty.

I guess it depends on your belief of what government should be. I don't expect government to keep me personally safe. I expect government to keep my liberties safe.
