Shade suspends team for 2021-22 season

The Tribune Democrat is reporting that Shade will not field a football team next season and hopes to announce a co-op soon. Coach Fyfe will join Bishop McCort as its offensive coordinator.

Sad day, this was always a stat padding game for Portage, Windber and Berlin.

A couple years ago when young Fyfe was Qb, they weren't an easy mark.

Just a few years ago with Fyfe at Shade and Kinsey at Ferndale it looked like those two school were trending in the right direction. Now it just makes the old Applichian East look like really accient history with Laurel Valley being consolidated, Ferndale and CV as a co-op and now Shade and one must wonder how long Blacklick Valley has left. On a winter day just makes me feel really old.
