Watching the Rose Bowl, anyone else think that Julian Fleming has gotten so big/ heavy that he has lost some speed

Is he on the way to Hback or TE territory?

Fleming, Kyle McCord, and Marvin Harrison Jr all need to come back to PA to play their college football because I’m not sure any of the 3 will ever become stars at Ohio State.

I definitely agree with McCord. I could see 1 or both of the receivers starting next year, depending on extra Covid year use/declaring for the draft. Either way, I like to see PA guys succeed.

As a 6'3 "pro style" QB I am not sure where McCord can succeed at a bigtime college football school. He is just limited by the fact that there are so many lineman who are taller than he is and he is not mobile enough to get out and away from the traffic.

As for the receivers we say Harrison showcasing himself in the Rose Bowl indicating that he will have a significant role to play on next year's OSU team. The biggest problem receivers have on that team is that they had two top rated guys already at that position and the two PA guys just were not at the level to beat them out for the playing time.

As for Flemming he was pretty big in high school too, I remember seeing him in a track uniform at States as a junior and he looked like a man amongst boys then. He has the speed and leaping ability to succeed at that level. He just does not seem to have the route running ability to truly pop. If you watch the routes you can see the guys like Olave, Wilson, Smith-Njigba, and even Harrison all run with crisp clean cuts on their routes creating instant separation that their speed then magnifies. Flemming never is able to get that separation and seemingly always has to try to make a contested catch as a result. When other guys are running open that makes it tough to get a lot of passes thrown your way.
