D6 playoffs
D6 playoffs
Concerning mostly the D6 single A lower teams: With so many having records like 3-6, how do they determine tie breakers to get that #8 team for the brackets?
It ain't over until it's over.

Playoff Rankings go by ranking points. Records themselves do not matter. Points Tiebreakers are:
Head to Head
Record vs Common opponents
Opponents winning percentage
Coin toss

AA will be very interesting. CC/PV this week could be a play in game. BG will most likely play Richland or BEA in round 1. Or could get United if BEA stumbles against PC. Forest Hills will also be a tough out for a United or MU in round 1.

Re: D6 playoffs
Richland vs BG could be upset special. With Richland on its third string qb and McCracken injured.

I think McCracken will be playing. Should be a great LHAC game and then a string run for them in district.
Re: D6 playoffs
Here is an idea for teams having records like 3-6, or any team under .500, they don't make the playoffs. Playoffs are a reward for being a good team. It's pathetic that a team with 3 wins is even in playoff discussion during the last week of the season.

Re: D6 playoffs
So it’s fair that a single A team playing a A or AA schedule gets in but a A team with a 4-6 record playing AA and AAA schools doesn’t?
It goes back to the argument weeks ago, a 5-5 Forest Hills team steam rolled through all the “good” teams who played a light schedule but had a better record. Hard to know who’s a good team and who isn’t when they all play different strength of schedules, that’s why they have playoffs.
Re: D6 playoffs
It's very simple, you should win at least half the games on your schedule and then you deserve to make playoffs. If you don't do that then you are not a good football team and don't deserve to make the playoffs. Maybe they can just allow everyone in the playoffs to appease everyone that worries about things being fair. Playoffs used to mean something, if you made the playoffs you were a good team, now playoffs are like oprah "you get into playoffs, and you get into playoffs, and everyone gets into playoffs!"CCDevil2012 wrote: ↑October 26th, 2023, 12:44 pmSo it’s fair that a single A team playing a A or AA schedule gets in but a A team with a 4-6 record playing AA and AAA schools doesn’t?

4-6 CC beat the 5-5 FH team who then worked their way through playoffs with ease until the championship game.OldD6er wrote: ↑October 26th, 2023, 1:04 pmIt's very simple, you should win at least half the games on your schedule and then you deserve to make playoffs. It’s not an appeasing everybody thing, it’s a maybe teams should play no competition all season just to make playoffs things. Every year it’s argued which college team is worth of making the CFB, and every year there’s a team who is said to not be worthy because of their light schedule over a team who played a harder schedule.
Re: D6 playoffs
Totally agree with no one gets in with a losing record.
Somerset has no buisness being in the playoffs.
Central Cambria should not be in the playoffs
McCarroll should not be in the playoffs
