St. Francis announced Chase Somers DL from Huntingdon yesterday. As far as I can tell, the only D6 player in the Red Flash 23-man recruiting class. I did not catch any D5/6 players in RMU's and Duquesne's class either.

Is this thread limited to football? Just asking.

Not many college players in this class. McCracken (Rich) to Army, Piscatella (Rich) and Beppler (BM) to Clarion. Also Lingenfelter (Cent) transferred from SFU to IUP and LaRue (Rich) from Robert Morris to Clarion.

Ferguson (BM) signed with Mercyhurst which will be moving to the NEC with SFU, RMU, and Duquesne.

It’s so hard to get any D1 football players from this area or LH. I would think wrestling for this area had the most d1 products over the last few years.

The talent pool in D5/D6 for football just isn’t really that great. Local football is good but you very rarely see truly good players that can play D1/D2. I think size of the district, meaning total land, being bigger in D5/D6 hurts some schools. For example a lot of wpial teams may have similar numbers but the size of their district land wise is a lot smaller. Makes it easier for kids to get to the school for offseason stuff or stuff going on not directly after school.

Appreciate the feedback I concur 💯

Too many small schools. If we had one or two large, regional teams, where kids had to actually work hard to get playing time, and had to regularly compete against other good talent, it would help.
