Nothing against UPJ, but they ain't no top tier D1 school like Clarion or Iowa, Penn State, Oklahoma. You're gonna see clubs like Orchard get their wrestlers into top tier D1 schools like Clarion and Iowa. FH does get kids into good schools like Frostbirg and UPJ, but if they focus on strength and hire a new coach who is all in, then the big names like Clarion and Penn State will be calling. Girls wrestling is exploding too and FH needs to take advantage of that. You're seeing schools like CR with great girls wrestling programs. This ain't no part time sport. The writing is on the wall who they should get to run their program.

Yah let's see thanks for proofing my point by putting his name on your own list of his wrestlers. I guess he coached himself.

Yeah nothing to see here thanks for proofing my point. He may have wrestled for Penn State and but none of his wrestlers could. They all went UPJ D2.

Hopefully they will hire the next coach that coaches more than three months out of the year. A lot of coaches around that are all in and no where Fargo is and what Greco is.

If YOU had taken the time to read my comment in the other current thread you would have seen I mentioned Strayers' Coach. FHHS grads all KNOW, not no, where places are, and language usage is also taught as well. More to the sport than Greco-Roman.

High school wrestling isn't the be all, end all. Most FH wrestlers are multi-sport athletes. Strayer himself was a star in cross-country and long-distance track. Sure there have been some good fulltime wrestlers, but many have just played whatever sport that was in-season at the time. And what was their reward for wrestling all year long? Wrestling for 4 or 5 more years after high school and spending your youth in a gym. If that's your goal in life, more power to you. Otherwise have fun with sports in high school, and cherish those memories.

Well woopy do. Good for him. But who the crap cares what you did in high school Al Bundy. Hate to break it to you but nobody really gives a crap about long distance track or cross country either. Don't see too many track stars getting into Clarion or Iowa to wrestle.

Ever hear of Kurt Angle? He did a whole weeks worth of track practice every morning before wrestling practice at Clarion. Then wrestled and lifted.

So to each there own but being average at multiple sports or great at wrestling isn't a hard choice. More like an excuse for parents who can't handle the grind.

Gut feeling Law gets the program and gets it back to where it once was. Someone told me he left the UFC to throw his hat in the ring. My buddy said they have numbers in the elementary but all seasonal kids. Lots of hunting, farming and fishing. Plus Megadeath/Mall UPj is a dream for most kids in Bedford/Cambria county. How many kids actually go D1 in our region. Not many

creedence: You missed my point entirely. Mr. Strayer proved you don't have to wrestle all year long for years to make it in college wrestling; or in other sports for that matter. I guess if your goal is to swim in the Olympics, you SHOULD practice your event 11 months a year. When I was 16, I didn't spend all my time practicing some sport in a gym. And with wrestling, what is your reward after years in a gym? You end up being a wrestling coach in a gym again somewhere. And yah, you could get a scholarship somewhere. But if you hit the books you can get one too. Sports should be fun. It's meant to be a game. Stop and smell the roses.
