i think it was and wasnt. I dont think Clarrett should be allowed in the NFL but i think Mike Williams was ready. Williams will probably get the heisman and be a top three pick in 2005. He would have been a first round pick this year. Clarrett on the other hand would have been a third or fourth round pick. Williams could start on almost any team in the NFL. He should have been allowed in the draft.

The NFL can't let one person in and not the other based on the talent level of the player. I think it was the right decison though...

if i understand correctly they both can be picked in the supplementary draft but the team who picks them gives up next years first round draft choice, that was how bernie kosar and chris carter where drafted

out of the two of them, williams got the screws the hardest. hes gonna lose almost .5 million in licensing contracts now, and you had best believe he probably wont get as much money now, figuring that most teams will be shellin out the the rest of their cap on the primary draft picks.

I think Mike Williams would be worth a first round pick in next years draft. Just think if they get him and he does great for their team than he is better than they would have got in the first round anyhow. Whatever team gets him could trade a player for another first round pick anyway.

I think it is the right decision to make by making sure the players coming out of college are ready for the League because it is totally different in the League than in College. You have to be mature enough to handle getting up at 6:30 to get to meetings, lift, practice, then more meetings and the pounding the NFL players take!! I think you should have to play a few years in college or you will get killed in the League!! I believe Mike Williams is very capable of playing on Sundays more so than Clarett but who knows what NFL teams want. I think Clarett had a good college career but got banged up all the time and how can he take the punishment in the NFL if he can't do it in college in a shorter season??

I think if they feel ready to go pro, then let them go. They can only blame themselves if they fail. I think that NCAA football should be like NCAA basketball. Let the players go when they feel they're ready. Some will make an impact right away (Lebron) and some may never make an impact. It should be their decision though. I think letting players go pro whenever they want has made NCAA basketball a lot more competitive.

I feel that if you let the players leave early it waters down both the college game and the pro game. The NFL is by far the best professional league in the country.

Your definition of competative is my definition of 2nd tier,watered down,shadow,of what the game used to be.That's why I don't even watch b-ball anymore.I can see equivilent games at the Mansion Park summer league.If football stoops that far,then I will be watching less ball on Sundays.
