I know that they have a good track team, and a Percosky (sp?) who is really awesome in the hurdles. But I haven't seen what they have in the sprints, nor what they have in the 800 and 3200. Anybody care to fill me in?

Sprints do not seem to be Windber's strong suit. They will run Perkosky in there if needed. Since they are deep in the hurdles, they don't always need him to run them. They have some good 800 runners. The Clement kid looks like he could be an excellent 800 guy. He ran a 52 in the 400 and has shown he can run a good 800.....he has some real potential. Their best guy in the 3200 is Rummel. I don't know if he has broken 11 this year, but I do know he did last year.

just out of curiosity, why is everyone asking about all these teams? its not like u can plan a defensive or offensive strategy to win...ur guys should run the same things all the time and at their best all the time, becuase regardless of how good or bad the other team is, ur still competing.

Gunner...au contraire. Track coaches are notorious for playing "chess" with each other when there is a meet that could go either way being held or legitimate chance of an upset in a meet. Why do you think Bedford puts Harris in the Shot sometimes?

They put Troy in the shot for fun, and they might not need him on the track that much that day. Not because they need help in the throwing events.

in the words of alex trebek....WRONG! being crepsy's confidante, i know that he put troy in the shot becuase he could be replaced in the 4X1 and would do well in the shot, therefore giving us points in both events....he was predicting the score w/ richland to come down to the final relay and was trying to get as many points possible

I could not disagree with this more! A lot of track is about strategizing, believe it or not. A perfect example is last year at WPAC Championships. Berlin girls lost to Meyersdale by 1 1/3 points. That's less than a 2nd place finish. Suppose Berlin took 3rd by 1 1/3 point is wouldn't matter, but after taking second it's no longer a "little thing". Perhaps if the Coach had done a little more planning the outcome would have been different. If a coaches second best can beat their opponents first best, then why not move their first somewhere else and score 2 first places rather than a first and second?

Pretty much what I said, Gunner, only I said it was for fun. They do put him in there because they might not need him on the track as much that day, hence the 4x1 or 4x4 relays.
