first day in college

Post by fleaflicker »

Hey everybody, I haven't been on here in a while, but I figured I'd come on to keep up on the football from all around the county and area, since I am no longer in it. This is Ben Oldham, and some of you may know me, and I am typing this from my dorm room at the College of Mount Saint Joseph's, which is in Cincinnati, OH. I've had a decent summer, though I haven't been running as much as I should. But I am going to try to get into shape this fall, though I am not running xc for college. But this is my first night in my dorm room. I got a single, and I don't have a tv in here, yet, though I bought one especially for the purpose. I do have a nice part time job at the Bonefish Bar and Grill as a busser. If you wonder, it's owned by Outback Steakhouse Inc. It's a nice place to work, and I get 3.25 an hour, plus tipshare. That usually ends up at about 8 an hour before the feds deduct Social Security and Medicare (one of which I'll never be able to use anyways...), but still not bad money. Everybody there is really cool, and it's nice to have some cash on hand. I can't be a waiter there, due to serving alcohol (legal age is 20 in KY, which is the location), but still, it's cool. It has some nice perks too. College has some perks too, such as an indoor track and weight room, and a laptop computer, which I am typing this on. It did have to be payed for though, so hey. But I should go, as they are having more stuff for us at about 8:30 tomorrow morning, and I need some zs. I was just letting everybody know what's up. I wish you all the best, and go Chestnut Ridge! Sorry, have to root for my high school, even if I'm not in it. He he he.

Ive been at school since friday the 20th. Im in the IUP marching band, and let me tell you what, you think you did hard **** in H.S. IUP Practices are from 8am to 1030 at night in the sun almost all day marching back and forth 8 to 5's. Its hard ****, but when you hear the sound we have its amazing. I havent had any time to do anything else here at iup. But since ive been here i know of at least 2-3 parties that have happened and everyone isnt even moved in yet. So their rep. is true.
