Northern Kentucky football

Football is big out here, and the main conference is the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference. There are several good teams, spanning the range from A private Catholic schools (Beechwood) to AAAA public school (Dixie Heights and Boone County. This is a very competitive conference, and some of the largest rivalries are between A and AAA or AAAA schools. For example, Friday night, Covington Catholic beat Beechwood 26-25 on a last second field goal. They, a Triple A school, celebrated their first victory over Beechwood since Lord knows when. The coach there can't recall the last time his team beat Beechwood. Also, Highlands, the number 1 ranked team in the NK area, shut out Boyle County, and that's the first time Boyle County was blanked in six years. By the way, Boyle County is the defending AAA state champions, beating Highlands (yes, same team) 44-10 in the state championship game. And I believe one of the A teams also made it to the state championship last year, though I don't remember which one. My best bet would be Conner or Beechwood. Conner beat Boone County 42-6 on Friday, maintaining a perfect record while Boone drops to 1-3.
These are some really tough teams, and I think that only one or two teams out where I did come from could play at this level successfully. Perhaps Bishop Carroll could have some success on this level, as well as Tyrone, but those are the only two that really come to mind. Forest Hills probably could as well on some years, but not on a really regular basis. The rest woudl struggle I think. But that's just so far as I can tell as well.
Just figured I'd tell you what's going on out my way.
