Thanks, Barry. Well, FSU pulled it out in a come-from-behind win. I said they'd win the upset over NC State, and they did. NC State is one of those teams that plays well against good people, and they win games they shouldn't, while they lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. I love Chuck Amato, he wears his sunglasses at night, and he's the man. But speaking of coaches from last night, how about Bobby Bowden? 350 on his career, and he doesn't do anything. See, the difference between Bowden and Paterno is more than just a successful season in 2004. Joe Paterno is so completely out of the loop that he doesn't even know what he's doing. Now, I've never coached college football, but the play calling is a travesty in State College. They just do things that make no sense whatsoever. Bowden on the other hand, is not calling the plays in Tallahassee. Bobby Bowden is in the twilight of his awesome career, and is doing exactly what he should be doing: allowing his assistants to coach their respected areas. He is nothing more than a figure-head, like the Queen of England. Bobby Bowden is very close to retirement, and is doing nothing more than helping FSU gain recruits. And that's exactly what he should be doing. Take a look at him on the sidelines. 9 out of 10 shots, he's not even wearing a head-set, has no connection to the offensive coordinator or anyone else upstairs. Bobby Bowden is hanging out on the sidelines, not even coaching that team. That's exactly the way the situation should be handled. When Schembecher was done at Michigan, they stuck him in an office, and told recruits "Okay we're going to take you to meet Bo Schembecher". Recruits loved it. He was used the way he should have been used. Paterno, however, will not step aside, and continues to watch himself become a mockery of his former legend. It is downright pathetic, and extrememly selfish. I love Joe Paterno to death, I appreciate all the memories he gave me growing up, but enough is enough. Get out, or get thrown out, and please don't make the university have to do the latter.
- Give some notes on last weeks games
We'll start in the Pac 10 with USC. They won a close one against Oregon State, but no one should be surprised by this. Oregon State is a good football team, and the weather was atrocious. You know where the whether isn't atrocious? The Orange Bowl. 40-17 USC over Oklahoma. Speaking of OU, they needed to have a freshman drop his redhshirt so he could play in a game against a mid-quality A&M offense. That secondary is nothing short of "blunder status" in Norman. Can't wait for the national championship. Oklahoma State gives up 49 straight points to an 'okay' Texas squad. Congratulations, Cowboys. You are the idiots of the universe. Clemson beat Miami in OT, and I definitely called it. Miami is the best team in the country but they are not a cohesive unit. They are NFL-Coral Gables. You can't deny the Canes, no matter what, but this happened last year too. There's a strong possibility that UVA is going to pound Miami tomorrow. Miami is on their heels and taking on the best team they'll see all season. As much as I hate to say it, better luck next year. Notre Dame beat Tennessee, and I called that in July. Tennessee is a paper program if there's any example of one. 10 wins a season is great Phil, but 12 is much better. Let's win 12. Cincinnati pounded by beloved Golden Eagles, and Iowa put another nail in poor Kyle's coffin. Too bad so sad. Don't throw 5 yard passes and you won't get overrated. Syracuse beat Pitt in overtime, and that's bad news for Panther fans. Because now, the Panthers might be out of bowl contention, and they still have West Virginia left. If nothing else, they played better in 04 than everyone had them predicted.
- Who is the most over-rated team in the country?
This question never gets old. Oklahoma. Terrible secondary, and I think it's bleeding into the line too. This team is winning shoot-outs Hawaii style. If your defense gets compared to Hawaii, you got problems.
- Under-rated?
It's obviously UTEP, but this week we have a specialty pick because of the upcoming game. It's South Carolina, who just beat a good Arkansas squad, and this week is going into the Swamp. They'll beat Florida, and the woes continue in Gainesville. I love the Gators, but the truth hurts. South Carolina beats Florida.

4. Kansas State over Colorado
5. I'll do it, I'll take Tech over A&M at A&M
- Upset of the Week
Not much upset potential this week, as far as unranked over ranked. The only one I can see is Alabama over LSU, which might seriously happen. I'll lay some money on the Tide, I guess, if for no other reason than I like Mike Shula, and there's not much other upset potential except NW over Michigan. LSU and Michigan are both undefeated at home (Wyoming is also, playing Utah this week) so I don't know if there's serious upset potential, but I'll be the master of the world if Bama wins. Go Tide.
- Who is the worst program in the country
East Carolina is the worst program in the solar system. They are the worst team in the country and should never win a game. Not only are they terrible on the field, they also LOOK terrible on the field, as far as jerseys go. They are purple and yellow, they are craptactular, and they deserve to be bashed every week. When you are the purple and yellow Pirates, you deserved kicked off the planet.
- Favorite Actor and Actress
Robert Duvall and Angelica Huston
- Pitt / Penn State Weekend Outlook
Panthers gotta go into South Bend, and Walt sees Touchdown Jesus. He mistakes Jesus for Larry Fitzgerald, breaks into a huge crying session over Larry's departure, and Pitt loses a close one. But not before Tyler Palko can take a gang of peasants and keep it close. Darious Walker might have 400 on the ground this week. Penn State marches into Indiana, a game they can win. The defense will score a safety, and Penn State wins 5-3.
- You Have 5 Sentences, Go
My sleep schedule is so ridiculous right now. I slept from 8 pm to 6 am today. Chuck Amato is my hero in life and I worship at his feet because of the sunglasses and awesomeness. I am very sick of eating healthy, as Saturday can't come soon enough. I want to drop out of UNT and go on the road with Pat Forde from ESPN.com.
"Oh, hey, Enemy, what's up? I'm just hangin' out with John Bunting. Hey, you know the song, man. 'Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades!' Carolina coaches UNITE!"
